Hiya,

hum, my lower back is n't bad, but I have those issues in my neck and they can be a problem without active inflammatin which mahes for some interesting events and treatments.

How bad are the symptons and the damage?

Just saying welcome to ya'. Lots you can try doing. I guess it depends on what you are already doing that has or has not helped you.

Snoop about here and ask lots of questions. There are some wise folks here and all of em are prety doggone caring.

Hi Teddie:

Welcome!

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. My recommendations to you are to try everything and anything to feel better, whether it be meds, exercise, relaxing, pacing yourself, decreasing stress, etc.. Most importantly, don't keep your emotions in. It is good to talk to somebody about how you are feeling (I know its hard for men to do this) but its important in order to reach acceptance of your condition. Also, its completely healthy to feel pessimistic and optimistic

We are all here for you.

Welcome to the group Teddie,

Tossed some big words out there I am not all that familiar with. Can only tell you what has helped me.... azulfadine (in the past), diet (No Starch), stretching, visiting Kickas, supplements (fish oil) and keeping a positive outlook.

Hope you find some answers to your questions and that you keep coming back here to visit.

Take care,

Tim

Hi Teddie,
Just wanted to say Welcome. I don't think I have any answers at this time to your questions, my husband has AS, physically not much has helped with him, but every case is different, I guess the best thing is to follow doc's advice, it seems to be a trial & error thing unfortunetly. Emotionally, it helps to have support, and you can find that here, encourage your family members to come on board as well, I know the people here have helped me tremendously. Take care & God bless, Sheila

Hi There,
Welcome to our group. The termanology which they have used basically tells you that you have signs of disease on both sides of the SI and Lumbar 5 . The stage 2 is actually not too bad, so this is the time to get into a good treatment program. Keep moving by exercise. Swimming is the best form for A/S and the easiest on the body. I swim at least four days per week. It doesn't have to be laps, it can be simply moving in the water and STRETCHING in the water. I use to do laps, but now find that too hard on my shoulders, but I am still in the water. What are the symptoms at this point in your disease? If you have drug coverage push for a DMARDS.

Best of Luck,
Janet
