Rick, I've been away from the forum for a while, and just returned to hear this news.

Please, please, please let Dan know that Maxine in Canada has him in her thoughts and prayers every day.

Dan is a very dear person to me, and I love him like a brother. We helped each other through our respective failed relationships, both via email and telephone. He is one of the most unselfish people I know, and has been an inspiration to me. Please be sure to let him know that I love him very much, and will write to him once we have an address.

Great news of Dan's improvement, So pleased for him and his family. Its a relief to see hes showin so many positive signs.
I totally agree with the post about sendin postcards etc, hope the address can be given out, it be so good to cheer him on in every possible way.

Dan is doing very good and continuing to make progress. He's not been able to eat regular food but has been chewing on ice all this week. Yesterday he was able to raise a cup of ice to his mouth on his own and even tapped on the cup with his finger when a piece got stuck in the cup. He's also been sitting up a little and has taken some rides around the hospital in a wheel chair. He still has not spoken but we all know there are words in there waiting to come out.

He's been moved and is now at,

Room 110

I'm not sure how long he'll be at this facility. I'll let you know if he is moved again.

Gotta go but I'll be back as I hear more.

Chewing on ice probably never felt so good.....thanks for the update Rick....hey, if you're not sure when Dan will leave the new hospital, should someone print out this post who is close by and mail or deliver it to him? Is that possible?? If he'll be there for awhile let us know, we should all shower him with crazy funny get well stuff...

You're gonna make it Dan-O, because you freakin' rock, I hope they are treating you well at the new hospital, any problems we'll just have SteveC place a call to Bruno...

Dan has a print out up to about page 8, which I gave his mom a few weeks ago. Next time I go over I'll make sure to reprint if you guys don't send a copy.

BTW, I received a very nice email last weekend from the woman who witnessed Dan's car accident. She saw the accident first hand, stopped to call for help and then sat with Dan talking to him until help arrived. The experience effected her so much that she searched for information about Dan on the Internet and found this site. She then found my email on this thread and sent me the note. She stated that she has been following this thread and will check back periodically. I forwarded her email to the rest of the family and sent her back a response. The email effected my dad so much that he immediately called Dan's mom and read it to her over the phone.
