OK... this topic was posted over a year ago... but time to rehash (I am bored at work). My favorite movie of all time has been on TNT quite a bit recently.

What is your favorite movie and why?

Or if no favorite, what type of movies do you enjoy. Or do you have a favorite line from a movie.

My favorite movie - Shawshank Redemption - Movie about Hope.... all kinds of reasons I love the movie.

- Warden hands Bible back to Andy and states "Salvation lies within".... salvation of the Bible, and then also the fact that is where he hid the rock hammer to dig the tunnel.
- Last two words uttered in the movie are "I Hope"
- Andy has a genuineness about him.... he can find good in quite a bit and makes the most of anything that is thrown at him.
- Two of my favorite quotes of all time: - "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies" and "get busy living or get busy dying" Both of course from Andy.

Other movies I love.... Breakfast Club, Groundhog Day, Mr. Holland's Opus, Remember the Titans. I tend to love movies that have a lesson in life involved.

One of my other favorite quotes ...

"an old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! It wasn't my fault, I swear to God.

Who is next?

Tim

For me it would be 'The Unforgiven' with Clint Eastwood. Why? Because even though he was a whipped dog he took charge of the situation. Not unlike a lot of us. Seems trouble hunts us out no matter where we try to hide. charles

My favourite movie of all times, it is hard to pick just one. One of them for sure is Bridges of Madison Country - cheesy chic flic...

Memphis Belle....

Pretty Women....

Dirty Dancing....

Breakfast Club, Pretty N' Pink, 16 Candles

10 Things I Hate About You

They aren't real "thinking movies", I figure I do too much of that during the week.

There you go! There are probably tons more that I forgot, but these are the staples...

Amy:)

Fun fun fun!!! I think you can tell alot about someone by the movies they like.

My ALL TIME favorite movie (I think I have every word in it memorized) is.....

Terms Of Endearment. It's got everything... laughter, tears, rage, love, life and death.
Jack Nicholson, Debra Winger, Shirley McClain, Danny Divito... they're all great.

Mask, with Cher and Sam Elliot is another fav... I love movies based on true stories, and the music is great in this one. Lots of Bob Seger.

Urban Cowboy. I know, I know.... no one needs to laugh too loud!!
Grease. I LOVE John Travolta, NO MATTER WHAT!
When Harry Met Sally.... Classic love story w/tons of laughs.
Benny and Joon. Same Time Next Year. A Christmas Story ("you're gonna shoot your eye out, kid!!")

Oh the list could go on and on!! But I'll be nice.

Ok, since you asked. My absolute all time favorite is "A River Runs Through It"-because it combines good story, fishing, and Brad Pitt.
Also love all the LOTR movies, and any Mel Brooks when I need a good laugh. Not much for chick flicks-my hubby teases me about that all the time. Need action-Die Hard, Braveheart, anything Arnold, etc.
