1. Star Wars
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. E.T.

That should tell you enough about my movie tastes.

Hmmmm holy schmoly.... just trying to think. I have so many that I enjoy watching over and over, but it's hard to rate them in any particular order, so I'll just jot them down.......

GWTW.... (but Miss Scarlett, I know nuttin' bout birthing no babies)
Cool Runnings .. ok, it was made for kids, but I love the fact that it's a Jamaican Bob Sled team... and of course, John Candy is in it which 'makes' it for me.
Notting Hill - well, who can resist a vulnerable Hugh Grant?
The Ref - Denis Leary at his finest.
Of Mice and Men - John Malkovich and Gary Sinise version, the finest I have ever seen.
The First Wives Club - Geez... I wish I had their resources!!!
LOTR Trilogy
Braveheart - Mel Gibson.
Angela's Ashes
The Matrix Trilogy

My son Daniel watches his favourite movies every day... his are...

How the Grinch Stole Christmas
The Santa Clause (1 and 2)
Speed (that bus blows up every time!)
Free Willy
101/102 Dalmations

(Daniel just loves Christmas.. so we have to watch xmas movies all year around!)

When Alex can sit still long enough, he loves the LOTR, Harry Potter and all those Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-gi-oh types.

Andre can't sit still long enough to watch a movie, but he did enjoy watching "Somethings gotta give" the other night.

my favorite movie of all times is Hackers. I love that movie reminds me of when I was younger and did that sort of crap, just for fun nothing malicious or evil intent. I just used to see what I could do. so my favorite movie of all times is HACKERS.

Best movie ever...

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb! Stanley Kubrick's dark comedy, with Peter Sellers acting in three of the leading roles. I have watched it over 30 times, I think (on video) and never get tired of it. Why? Don't know, but it's funny and I really like the way it's filmed, with almost documentary feeling in many scenes.

Other very good films:
-Fifth Element with Bruce Willis
-12 Monkeys, with Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis. A strange movie, but good!

Hi Tim,
Bored at work? Is that a good sign? My favorite is "Shawshank Redemption", I could watch it a million times over. As for Disney movies, I like "The Lion King". And for a chick flick, "Steel Magnolias". Hmmm, I know I have many more favorites. "The Gladiator" is also good.
Have a great day! It is sunny and 80 here in Michigan. I think I heard you all were having a heatwave, if so stay cool and drink plenty of fluids.
Take care,
Cara

Two big favourites are:

Casablanca (Humphrey Bogart / Ingrid Bergman)

Rick: If you don´t mind, you fill in the names, that´ll make it even more official.

Politisjefen: You think of everything, don´t you?

Rick: And the names are Mr. and Mrs. Victor Laszlo.

Ilsa: But...why my name, Richard?

Rick: Because, you´re getting on that plane.

Ilsa: I don´t understand, what about you?

Rick: I´m staying here with him until the plane gets safely away.

Ilsa: No, Richard, what´s happened to you? Last night...

Rick: Last night we said a great many things. You said I was to do the thinking for both of us. Well I´ve done a lot of it since then, and it all adds up to one thing: You´re getting on that plane with Victor where you belong.

Ilsa: But Richard, no I...

Rick: Now, you´ve got to listen to me. Do you have any idea what you´ve got to look forward to if you stay here? Nine chances out of ten, we´d both wind up in a concentration camp. Isn´t that true, Louis?

Politisjefen (Louis): I´m afraid Major Strasser would insist.

Ilsa: You´re saying this only to make me go.

Rick: I´m saying it because it´s true. Inside of us, we both know you belong with Victor. You´re part of his work, the thing that keeps him going. If that plane leaves the ground, and you´re not with him, you´ll regret it. Maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life.
Ilsa: But what about us?

Rick: We´ll always have Paris. We didn´t have. We´d lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night.

Ilsa: When I said I would never leave you.

Rick: And you never will. But, I´ve got a job to do too. Where I´m going, you can´t follow. What I got to do, you can´t be any part of. I´m no good at being noble, but it doesn´t take much to see that the problems of three little people don´t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you´ll understand that.

Rick: Now, now. Here´s looking at you, kid.

I dont think I have a real favourite, but I like the film LEON, with Jean Reno, and never tire from watching it.

Pulp fiction and reservoir dogs are also favourites. I do like 'that sort' of film.

Oh man, Tim, this is going to be tough.

LOTR - all three - no need to explain
Braveheart - the scenery at the top of the film is stunning
Gone With the Wind - read the book at least 20 times, seen the movie so many times I think I'm in it. Vivien Leigh is probably the most beautiful woman I've ever seen and I had a major crush on Clark Gable when I was younger. I can't read or watch it anymore tho, 'cause every time Scarlett keeps making the same damned mistakes. You'd think she'd learn!!!
Casablanca - because it's beautiful and amazing
Any of the Kate Hepburn/Spencer Tracy movies - they are magic together
Pandora's Box - Louise Brooks - silent film from Germany. Amazing
The Last Samurai - The cinematography is stunning and Tom Cruise is actually quite good in it.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas - the bestest ever Christmas cartoon!!
It's a Wonderful Life - Jimmy Stewart, need I say more
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington - see above
Philadelphia Story - Kate Hepburn, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart, see above
Little Women - Kate Hepburn as Jo
The Lion in Winter - Peter O'Toole and Kate Hepburn - both are brilliant and it is an amazing screen play that actually kept to the integrity of the original play
Anything with James Bond - especially Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan. Really, Pierce should marry me.
Our Dancing Daughters - Joan Crawford's first starring role, silent film
The Party - Peter Sellers chasing his shoe down the indoor pond. Oh my god.
Star Wars and Star Trek - all of them, don't need to explain
Judgement at Nuremburg - Spencer Tracy, Montgomery Clift, Judy Garland, William Shatner - brilliant film, absolutely brilliant
The Wizard of Oz - because, because, because, because, because, because of the wonderful things it does!
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner - I know it's covered under "Any of the Kate Hepburn/Spencer Tracy movies - they are magic together", but also Sidney Poitier and it was Mr. Tracy's last film appearance.
Born Yesterday - Judy Holliday and William Holden, wonderful
American in Paris - Have you seen Gene Kelly dance?
Singing in the Rain - see above and Donald O'Connor dancing on the walls. I can never remember which movie it occurs in, this one or American in Paris, but his sequence with Cyd Charisse is magic.
OH! and LadyHawke - Rutger Haur, Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Broderick - Rutger Hauer is actually the hero in this one (sigh) and Matthew Broderick's character keeps making lovely deals with God if He'll only let him get out of whatever scrape he's in. I love this movie.
And Strictly Ballroom - Dirty Dancing meets classic Australian humour - comes out of left field and hits you in the back of the head.

Man, there are so many. Do I have to actually stop? I'd better, as I keep adding to it. There are so many.....

Ah crap, I just added to it again

Hugs,

Kat
