Ayup me duck......gosh, it's a long time since I've heard that. I lived in Nottingham between the ages of 17 & 28. Lived in various places....Mapperley, Arnold, Basford, West Bridgford but mainly in the Victoria Centre (3 different flats...upgraded each time)

Used to work full time at TJ International at Sutton in Ashfield and part time evening work as a barmaid at the Porchester up near Mapperley (near the nut house) and then after that at Byrons in town.

The turf tavern was my local but I used to drink at the "TBI", "the trip", "the flying horse", the "Salutation" amoung a few...........too many to mention here.........and before you ask, NO I'm not an alcoholic
That's the one thing I really missed though when I emigrated - the pubs - they're just not the same here.

Where abouts do you work? play? etc.

I live inbtween Basford and Nuthall on the ring road. I work for an Housing Association. I think I have drunk in most of those pubs at one time or another.. The Trip of course being the oldest pub in England, probably the world......

The Flying Horse is now a shopping centre. The Vic centre has been refurbed 7 million times and is still gross.

The Nut House or loony bin Mapperley Hospital has gones too.

Will write more later
