A programmer friend here is very involved in text to voice for blind people to surf via Lynx (text-based net browsing via Unix systems). Not sure how the URLs are spoken though http://www.xyz.iinet.au\index.html doesn't exactly slide off the tongue  Probably just gives IPP:345-678-1234 instead Then of course they need braille keyboards, but with improvements one day we may have a reliable voice-to-text or PC control reality (not just in movies). So then all bathrooms can be net-connected and hands-free (except for the paperwork of course) hope the background noise doesn't get misinterpreted... I love star trek as well. Have watched it right through from when I was a kid (the original startrek). Actually still watch it now as they have it on Pay TV.
