If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Wellbutrin, yes! That's the happy pills I was taking while on Oxy. I couldn't remember the name so thanks for jogging my memory Jon Oh and and Kat, this drug also helps you cut down on the habit, a positive 'side effect' indeed . peace Kathy "The most beautiful stones have been tossed by the wind and washed by the waters and polished to brilliance by life's strongest storms."

....and if the Bull was taking Wellbutrin while on Oxy without difficulty, then it's hard to see while a mild painkiller like tylenol3 would be a problem with it.
At least on the surface (and do note Jonathan's cautions) those quotes in his post look quite exciting Kat!
Which anti-depressant was the psych suggesting? I'll check out interactions if it's listed in the UK. My guess, anyway, is thast it might increase the drowsiness often experienced with codeine.
Hang in there Kat, we're rooting for you. There'll be a way out of the hole you're in somewhere, just remember to keep looking for it.

Hi everyone. Thank you all so very much. I'm still in pretty rough shape today, but I'm hanging in. All of you have overwhelmed me with your replies and PMs and I'm so grateful. I have a call in to my family doctor so that I can run this situation by her and ask her advice on how to handle it. I've been going to my psychiatrist on and off for about 12 years. I've always trusted her not to steer me wrong, but it really does feel like she's just told me not to do what my rheumy told me to do. After two years of nagging at me to do what my rheumy says instead of going holistic with this. Somebody here said that it's like she's told me my pain is all in my head. That's kind of how I felt too. I know that she believes very strongly that the pain and my emotional state are interconnected - I believe that too. But this goes beyond "aches and pains" caused by stress. When she told me to stop taking all my tylenol I was too shocked to say anything. When I read the info pamphlet from the pharmacy, it said that this drug shouldn't be taken with codeine as they are both narcotics. If she had said that, well.... And I have to admit that the anti-depressant does have some kind of pain relief effect. Not complete, but definitely there. I'm going to keep up the tylenol arthritis. And only take the tylenol 3 if my pain gets completely unreasonable. The drug she's put me on, by the way, is called Celexa (Citalopram). I'm going to try taking it before I go to bed tonight, considering how incredibly drowsy it made me yesterday. She warned me that there were certain side effects that everyone experiences in the first few days (the jitters being one of them - which I certainly am experiencing today). However, she assured me that overall, the side effects from this drug are minimal, and that it is itself quite mild. I'm going back to see her at the beginning of December and she is quite confident that by then I'll be pain free and feeling wonderful. If you could see the look on my face. This is very upsetting. Gonna talk to my family doctor tomorrow hopefully. I know she'll be straight with me. I feel like I'm going to snap in two. Hugs, Kat

Kat--- I think wholistic is a wonderful thing, but if pain relief can only be relieved by things that are made specifically to CONTROL PAIN it's only self-damaging not to take them. I hate to say at this point your psych may be doing more harm than good. PLEASE watch it with the Tylenol Arthritis. That is a LOT of acetaminophen to be taking at once and I fear for your liver. I suggest asking for some pain meds that will not end up doing more damage than good. Anti-depressants break the cycle of depression-stress-pai-stress-depression-pain. They are NOT PAIN RELIEVERS. I hope your rheumy works with you, because at this point I think your psych is causing more of this "stress" she's so worried about you having. Please keep us updated on your progess. Kath, I really think the interraction thing with codeine is all about drowsiness and skilled tasks, the most obvious of which would be driving. I'd hardly call an SSRI an opioid, but then I'm not a pharmacist.
The drug is listed in the UK and there is no mention of opioids being contraindicated with it in the British National Formulary. Of course one would hope that you wouldn't need the codeine if this drug is as effective as your psych suggests.

I was on Wellbrutrin to quit smoking, it really does help you cut down and finally out. And two other bonuses? It seems to depress your appetite so no pounds gained through quitting smoking (rats! Another excuse to smoke out the window) and...hmm...it has a tendency to raise the libido. Win-win-win Cheryl If you can't be a good example you'll just have to serve as a horrible warning. Thanks for the reassurance, Loz. This whole thing has me so completely uncertain. I don't know where to turn at this point. I don't like how I'm feeling. I'm fuzzy all the time, sometimes a little woozy (was like that from the vioxx and ty 3s anyway). I've had this constant buzz on my skin for a week now (since the ty 3s came into this whole cocktail). But worst of all is that the floodgates have opened and although I want to move on and get positive again, I'm constantly almost in tears - sometimes they break through and I have no warning it's going to happen. Nothing huge, just the odd one. I suppose I've needed to cry, but I really didn't think it would be something my psych did that would bring it on. You know? I hate this. People ask how I am and I can't answer because I can't do the social lie. Then five minutes later, I'll be laughing at something. It's my worst nightmare. It's everything I was afraid would happen if I ever went on the drugs. But the herbals don't take it far enough and I can't live with the pain anymore. My chiro put it best. Living true to your principles is admirable and something to strive for, but if you can't live your life in joy then there's no point. No joy in Mudville right now. Hopefully there will be soon. I will not spend my 40th birthday crying. Hugs, Kat

The official line is that there are no rumours that nothing ever didn't happen. Therefore I deny everything and nothing simultaneaously.
So, just to clarify, I wasn't there when it didn't happen. OK?
