Ohhh my perfect day........hmmm I'd need a time machine! Then once I have installed it and read the intsructions I'd turn the dial to the era of the dinosaurs or even back a little further to the begining of time. I'd check out all the animals and plants and move up a little to cavemen times and see the huge woolly mammoths and watch how cavemen interacted and how families bonded and grew together. I'd even try my hand at painting on the walls of caves....then onto the pyramids. I'd hide behind a tree if I could find one and SEE how they put those thing together. Then onto castles and fair maidens and brave knights. I'd spend hours walking around the castles and looking at the swords and lamps and hand woven rugs. I'd go to the highest tower and over look a land that hasn't been logged or polluted and is only slightly marked by humans.
Then back home to collect my family (hubbies doing the dishes, it's my favourite day) and we'd go down to a warm beach with crisp clean sand and I'd swim with the dolphins and for the first time I'd reach out my hand and stroke one!!
We would all walk on the beach like we do now and collect seashells and look at the coral that's wahed up on shore. We'd watch the sun set over the mountains and walk home knowing that I'd never be as happy or as loved as I am now.

You know the last part of collecting my family we try to do once a fortnight and beside touching a dolphin we do walk along the beach and I do feel loved and happy. You know I have my favourite day most of the time. Just wish I could get a time machine!!!!

Wow.... your day alone sounds wonderful. I love fishing so if you want some company can I come fishing too? I plan to hire a charter boat for hubby and I this summer to take us deep sea fishing and I can't wait!!!

Johnny, I have to agree with the others...what a great post!
Sometimes I get kind of lonely and come here feeling like posting, but am often lost for words. So, I go through all the new post and write when I feel that my reply could be of some benefit.
I am sure a lot of people here feel the same way But this post gives everyone the opportunity to write when they pop in.
Ok..my perfect day...
I would wake before sun up and not have to take pain killers and wait for them to kick in before I can start my day. I would get dressed in my shorts and t-shirt, get my fishing gear ready and head out on the lake and throw my line in as I watch the the sun come up, which is a beautiful sight on the water. I would relax in the sun waiting for a tug on my line and when that came the adrenaline would start pumping as I would reel, trying hard not to lose the huge bass on the end. I would do this all day long until the sun was ready to set and I had caught my limit for the day.
Afterwards I would come back to my camp or home (would rather be camping, but going home is ok too) I would shower and put on something casual that would show off the tan I just got from being out all day out in the sun. I would cook up my catch, enjoy a romantic dinner with my husband and maybe a dance or movie afterwards. Later on I would climb into bed, hop on pops (my nickname for Eric) and sleep peacefully cuddled up in his arms.
Even though what I said above would be my perfect day...I'd have close enough to a perfect day...any day, doing anything if Eric was still here with me.
I could think of many more perfect days though. Most would include hanging out with my kids, even taking them fishing if only they liked fishing

I wish you all a perfect day!
hugs,
Lisa

Great topic Johnny!! Love the positive outlook...

Today is a perfect day to me!!

I feel better than I have in three years. My pain level is down, a lot.
All my surgeries have healed and so has my fractured foot I did this summer.
I can walk. Not only can I walk... but without braces, crutches, or a wheelchair. That is phenomenol!!
I'm on a NSD and have lost seven pounds. I haven't lost that much weight in eight years!!
My son...as some know went through a couple of tough years... He's
working full-time, for United Cerebral Palsey now. Seems happier than he has
been in a long time. Has a sweet girlfriend... I'm so happy for them.

My hubby and I just spent a vacation together, just hanging out at home
and enjoying each other. And whats really cool, he's gone onto the NSD
with me, and is losing pounds too.
My family is healthy and happier. How perfect is that...

I am finally able to excercise and can walk and swim everyday. I haven't
been this active in a long time. Many times I wondered if I'd ever get well enough to get to this point again.

I'm not on any medicines right now for AS. Which is amazing, since I do remember the days of Prednisone, Sulfasalizine and Plaquenil. I came as close as I want to go to having to take Methotrexate. I do feel blessed.

I also send my love and hugs to all the AS warriors that are still waging heavy battle with AS. I admire your courage, don't ever give up the fight!!

Perfect days can mean many different things, big or small. Sometimes
a perfect day can be one where we reach a goal. Goals like getting
enough rest, being kind to ourselves, taking the best care of ourselves that we can, and doing a little something that makes someone elses world brighter.
Today I'm painting my living room green. And I love to paint! I've waited a long time to be able to be well enough to do this. And by God it's the best!!

Doesn't get any better!!
Love and Hugs to all,
(Fiat) Coleen Ann Thanks Johnny! Great Idea

The perfect day for me would be to see my wife have an unstressfull, non-hurting day. She has been there for me through some extremely tough times and most would have left a long time ago when faced with all the medical junk that has happened to me. She never gave up on me or on us. For her I would give her the perfect day.

For me....I am happy with who I have become and have gotten quite used to it. I would probably have a heart attack if I were "normal" for that one day from the running, jumping and all the insane things I used to be able to do.

Actually, I had my perfect day, May 23, 2003, and my sig pic will attest to that!

My second perfect day would be 500 km's of crisp smooth as silk snomobile trails in mid-Ontario in early February at -10C, finished off with a hot tub in front of a fire with a tall cool one in my hand. Friends optional!

HI again Johnny,
I had to laugh when I saw your second post about fishing.
When I came back on I saw Sal's reply saying that she loved fishing too. I thought she was responding to me and just made a mistake who she was replying to until I looked and found your second post.
Guess we're going to have to get together and go fishing sometime
It's always been my favorite thing to do. My dad started taking me from the time I knew how to walk and I have to say my most cherished memories are fishing with him. It was our bonding time and it was during these trips was when he taught me the most about life, as strange as that may sound.
When Eric and I met he had never really fished before. He had a speed boat and when he asked me to marry him I said on one condition...he trade the speed boat for a fishing boat, which he did, and we went fishing every chance we got. I have to say our most romantic times were when we were fishing. As strange as I am sure that must sound too.
Now that think of it...you and I have discussed fishing before. Awhile back when I posted the "rate your fish" site. Was it you or someone else?
I was able to fish off my parents dock when I visited them in florida this past winter. They have the perfect set up for my wheelchair which my dad said he had built specifically for me. Since I haven't been able to fish often here, I spent hours and hours while there. It would start to rain and mom and dad would try to get me to go in the house, but I would say "a little rain never hurt anyone" Then it would start pouring and they would come back out and drag me inside. I am a die hard fisher person. Unfortunately I didn't catch anything, except for a turtle who is now swimming around in the river with fancy jewelry on. He got away with my favorite lure.
Haven't really had many chances to go deep sea fishing. A blue marlin huh?
Boy would that be fun! Have you ever caught one? Tried going for stripers one time on Mass...chartered a boat, but trip was cut short due to a death in the family. Planned on going back, but AS has put that on hold.

I can't even watch fishing on TV anymore...I get the fever too bad.
Hope someday we both get to do more of what we really enjoy and love doing. FISH ON!
Hugs,
Lisa
