If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi there....oh yes we can get Enbrel. I was on it at least 2 years ago and found it was fairly easy to get. It took a few weeks between the doc and the pharmacy to order it. The $800.00 every 2 weeks was also covered 100 % by my insurance. I was on it for 6 weeks and found it did nothing for me....i am wondering if 6 weeks was long enough. Just thought I would let you know.

Actually, my pharmy said he was more concerned that I take the vioxx with tons of water, than he was that I take it with food. He said that if my schedule didn't allow it (ie. 12 hours apart) I should watch out for tummy burns tho and change how I take it then. We'll see what happens. Hugs, Kat

Hi Kat, I just went to a new rhuemy today who took me off vioxx because my blood pressure was high. She suggested extra strength ibuprofen 800 mg 3x per day. And vioxx gave me heartburn anyways. , but at least it was covered whereas the ibiprofen is not. But I will give it a try and see what happens. Hope it works for you. Take care . I hope it works too. All we can do is wait and see. I'm having a bone scan next week to determine how much inflammation there actually is in my body. I'm hoping that having been on vioxx for 2 weeks by then won't make the results underestimate what has been happening to this point. Know what I mean? I'm almost tempted not to take it again until after the bone scan. Hugs, Kat

I know exactly what you mean. If you notice any weight gain while on the vioxx be sure to get you blood pressure checked. I started vioxx last week and within a few days had gained a few pounds. I didn't think much of it except when the dr took my blood pressure it was high so she said stop vioxx now. Good luck with your bone scan. Let me know the results.

It may not happen to you. I am thinking because of other drugs I am taking I had this reaction. I know I was on vioxx before and it didn't raise my bp. Just something to keep your eye on. There is no drug stronger than a good attitude.

Well...
My husband has been diagnosed (although we all know it was probably longer than that due to misdiagnosis) with AS going now on 9.5 years.
He's done the gauntlet of NSAIDS, most of which quit working after 6 months. And as for pain relief...for some reason its exceptionally difficult to do the chronic pain program. Everytime he got sent...about the time he finally got in, they would change his medication, and the chronic pain people would turf him out and tell him to wait and see.
9 and a half years almost all of it pain ridden.
He takes VIOXX twice a day now, which helps in general until the weather goes whacky then look out. Tylenol, he eats like candy...and it barely touches anything.
The only thing, and I know some viewpoints are towards the other end of the spectrum and I respect that, he ever found that gave him some relief...at least enough for him to sleep all night, was marijuana which was prescribed when we were in Central America.
He sees a specialist on the 4th (and let me tell you...he hates them, he saw that Walter Mindyk or whatever the name was at the U of A...years ago...guy is nothing more than a researcher who took measurements after making him wait 2 hours, and then tossed him back to his family doctor to deal with while he made another notation for statistics), who will hopefully either sign him into the medical MJ program or do something for the pain.
The next thing we are going to try...is that NSD/LSD the London AS diet and see if that works. With my son having mild ADD...the diet strangely enough is similar to the London AS diet so it wont be too whacky for the rest of the family.

Hi there, it sounds like your husband is on the same course of meds that I am. Vioxx twice daily and tylenol arthritis three times daily. I've only been on the Vioxx for about three weeks as yet, so it's only just starting to kick in, but I have to say that so far, with the bitter damp cold low temps we've been having, it does bupkuss on cold days. I've started another pain log to take in to my rheumy on my vioxx follow up. I wonder how long I'll be on it. I'd like to give it a good college try, a real chance to work, tho. Hell, I gave naturopathics two years before I turned to pharmaceuticals. Best of luck to hubby. Hugs, Kat
