Thanks Mars,
Yes, we can start our game of peekaboo again
At first I didn't like that little feature, but now I think it's kind of fun.
Speaking of Peekaboo. While I was at the hospital I found out that were adding a new wing to one side of the building. It was actually donated by the famous skiier Peekaboo. The name of the new wing is going to be...
"Peekaboo ICU" Ok, not a true story, but I thought I would share it with you anyway.

Lisa

Hi Linc,
Thanks for the nice words
I have to tell you though..you really should see someone about that losing ankle problem. I hear the docs really take it seriously
Most of my family has been supportive throughout all of this. Although I don't see them often, I know they are there for me, each in their own special way.
This visiting nurse thing that happen today was really a God Send...really could be called a visiting angel. If she does everything that she has planned to do, I'll really being in a much better situation by winter than I am now.
She is also getting me set up with LifeLine. I bracelet kind of thing that is like an emergency button if something happens when I'm alone.
Laughter is the best medicine...I learned though that you shouldn't do too much of it immediately after surgery...it may be nice, but hurts a heck of a lot.
Thanks again Linc

Hi Bruce,
Actually, I have enough for a movie now. A really good movie too.
I think I said way too many things things under the influence. At one point I thought they were going to ship me to the other side of the floor I was on, which is the mental ward. I would say something totally crazy and then just kept laughing and laughing, then I would say "stop making me laugh" I remember my sister saying so many times that they didn't do anything, and it was me making them laugh" At one point she had to hide behind the curtain because she was laughing so hard and she didn't want me to see her...she knew if I saw her that I would continue to laugh and she knew how much it was really hurting me. My mom just called me and reminded me that I have to call the docs and set up my follow up appointment. I told her I'm a little nervous about seeing him, because I don't know what I said or did when he was around. Glad I only have to see him one more time.
Thanks again Linc
Hugs,
Lisa

Hi Lisa it's me Els. I am at my folks' house. So hence the annymouse. I am thrilled to hear you are home. I know you are being very brave about the pain but knock it off will ya? I am having a hard time living up to you and I didn't ahve surgery! Just kidding. I know you know you can bellyache anytime you want and we will understand. I have an evening class here Tuesday nights and so I usually stay overnight but as it turns out my Dad was nastily injured today at work and I am staying on here for a while. He is in the hospital. He cut his fingers badly with a Skil Saw.My Mom's health is not good so I am taking care of her and trying to do the school thing too. I think I will be getting a little behind don't you think? My Mom is pretty shaken up as is my Dad of course. They may have to amputate one of his fingers tomorrow if they decide against the tendon repair. Imagine; he is almost 81 and was retiring at the end of this month. I feel so bad for him. Don't be fooled by his age....he is so competent but something near him was sliding or something and I guess he was distracted...when you work with your hands though accidents happen . Anyway I am worried sick about blood clotting. He has been taking an aspirin a day and I hope that will do the trick. My hubby's uncle died of a pulmonary embolism after the same kind of accident so I am paranoid.

Anyway sorry Lisa..wanted to just welcome you back and wish you the best but I guess I needed to get rid of some of this stres too. Its tough being the grown up. Can't I just be a kid again? About 10 or so please?

Els aka Anny the Mouse.:+)

Oh man Els....that's terrible. I'm so sorry.I hope they don't have to amputate.
Really sounds like you have your hands full. I hope you don't get too behind on your work. I know how hard it can be to catch up, but your pretty smart..you can do it. That's great that your able to be there for you parents. I guess you didn't teach your father how to be a little safer though around skil saws.
Poor guy, this must be really scary for him. I'm trying to think of what else would help thin his blood quickly. The only thing I can think of is prednisone, but not everyone has that on hand, and at his age...who knows what it could do to him. I'm sure the docs will figure something out. I hope so anway.
I'm glad you got the chance to post and get some stuff out of your system.
We all need that, especially when going through things such as what you are now. You may be a strong person, but sometimes even the best of us can suffer from too much stress without realizing it until it's too late.
Please take it easy and try not to worry too much ok...I know it's easier said than done, but try your best.
Please keep me posted on how he is and what the docs are going to do.
I'll saying prayers for all of you. Thanks for thinking about me and welcoming me back.
Hugs,
Lisa

At least they didn't take your funny bone out by mistake, you hear about all sorts of things that go on in hospitals, like removing the wrong body part. Wish I had a little of the stuff you were on, must be the change in weather or something because even my hair hurts.

Hi Lisa,

I am so glad to have you back where you belong. This place wasn't the same without you. I am so glad that you didn't lose you sense of humor but then of course you are a nut like me so that will hopefully never happen. It was so great to finally talk to you on the phone...don't know if you remember much of it though. I enjoyed it and you made me laugh so much. I missed you so much and am happy to hear that you are on the mend.

Take care and huggggggggs, my friend,

Lisa

Actually I did call.... thought the conversation was a little strange, so you're not normally like that then...? You mentioned something about liking the accent...... but I don't have an accent..... Probably a case, as someone else said to me one time, that it's actually you hearing funny.....

Glad you're home and look forward to catching up.....

Anything I could and can do to help. You know that.

Yes I did notice the hugs, and it brought a smile to my face. I like hugs you know.

Now about my little trip. I am so looking forward to it also. I have got a HUGH SURPRISE for you. I hope that I can keep the secret.......
