Hi Joanne,...

I think John has the kind of spirit that shows us all everyday how to be fighters,... and now more than ever. I admire his strong will and fierce determination to overcome whatever obstacles ... despite the daunting risks. He has a wife and a life that are obviously worth fighting for!!!

I can only imagine the fear that you both must be dealing with,... but I can sense the hope... the real chance for a lasting improvement, where your smiles will come easier and all the days ahead change into something you can both look forward to. There IS a better life waiting on the recovery side of his operations.

All my best thoughts and well wishes, cyberhugs, and prayers will be on their way up to you both through this time. With all my love and support,

mig

John and Joanne its encouraging that the Doctor has a plan. The risks are tremendous, my hopes for John are a complete sucess! John have you put aside some of your blood for the bleeds? Gee it seems like a clamp of sorts applied if a tear occurs might give the Doc some time to get to the front. My anterior ligament is fused to my neck, which pulls it down. If I go for the surgery, they will try to shave it off. Ouch! John can they drill a bunch of holes in the fused area to free the arteries? I really feel for you both. John, I've had surgeries lasting several hours a few times. PM me if you want. Arthur

Hi All

Just to let you all know my surgery has been postponed until June 5th and it will take about 7.5 hours to complete. The Doctor says he has to consult with some other Doctors and the anesthesia people before he opperates on me. Joanne and I also just found out that she can't come to see me until 3:00pm and can only stay until 8:00pm.

Hi John!

Oh ~ that must be so frustrating for you, getting all psyched-up with it seeming so close and now this?

On the other hand, it sounds like your doctor wants to ensure all bases are covered and be 100% prepared ~ which has GOT to be a good thing with such a complex surgery. Glad they haven't moved it out too far.

Sure hope this date will give you enough recovery time to enjoy the Ottawa party?
Take care!

I just hope he didn't need more time to read the How to Book before he Opperates on me.

It would be preferable if he were the guy that actually wrote the 'How to Book' !!!

Hey,... what about my Ottawa question? Any concept on the recovery time?
Take care up there!

Hehehehe

People with long-standing health problems must have to develop similarly morbid senses of humour in order to cope effectively

I get pretty giddy when I'm nervous (when I'm in 'shock' I'm a riot apparently), and my parents have loads of stories about some of the half-wit things that come out of my mouth. This one time, before a minor surgery/procedure when I was 17, I apparently said to the doc just as she was starting (a very proper Indian woman) - Don't let me catch you reading the instruction manual down there.

Pretty cheeky huh?

Sorry for your delay John. Even if it is for a good reason, it's difficult to deal with scheduling changes when you've made a big decision and are mentally prepared for it to happen on a given day. *sigh*

Best wishes,
Jeanna

John
Much better he reads and studies it now then when he is in the or...
I do know that it must be tough to have it rescheduled after getting set for it and wish you the best...
