That must have been very scary. I can't help on what other meds you can have someone with more experience will be able to tell you presumably it will be the next level up which I think is biologics?.

Usually the first thing a rheumatologist would do is to ask you to take NSAIDS for three months to see if it helps you before considering anything else however in your case that wont be possible but I don't know if they would go straight to the next step that quickly.

I hope you don't have to wait long to see the Rheumatologist.

In the meantime look at Bettyrawker's posts she swears by curcumin (turmeric extract) as an anti-inflammatory unfortunately the brand she recommends is a US brand which I don't think is available here. I looked on the site and it costs a fortune to send here never mind customs etc frown It needs to be as high a percentage of curcumin as possible I think. I keep meaning to get some in the UK to try but its a minefield looking into supplements and all the extra ingredients.
