I just wanted to tell you about my appointment.

He was a very thorough, caring, knowledgeable dr. by first appearances. My husband thought so also

He showed me all of my pictures and explained things. He said I have two choices:

I can choose to let him put the spine back in place and hold it there with screws and in the other area, clean out the bone that has the nerves pinched.
He said he thinks for the current problems in those areas, he can take care of 100% of the pain. Of course, it can happen elsewhere. He said that there are no guarantees about the healing problems.

or..

I can choose to take pain pills and buy a scooter.

I have to have another bone density done to be sure the bones are strong enough to hold the screws and they have to talk to my cardiologists, etc. If everything checks out, I plan to have the surgery.

He is suggesting less than what we expected. It will be about a 3 hr. surgery, 3-4 days in the hospital, 8 weeks of pretty much nothing except walking and a total of 9 - 12 months of total recuperation.

I decided that time is going to pass anyway and I might as well spend it working toward being able to take walks, garden, travel, etc. or spend it popping pills and figuring out how to get from here to there and missing out on a lot of life.

My only concern has been healing but I am going to fire my best shot and go for better quality of life.

Just filling you in. It will be sometime in May, getting all of the tests done and getting it scheduled.

Thanks for your continued support.
