I can only speak for myself here. Your individual health may differ.
With fruits such as berries I have had a few instances when bought from shops where the berry was picked unripe as it looks prettier and takes longer to spoil. Freshly picked berries are likely to be safer, especially when you know they are ripe. Actually, I think it was only mulberries that I have had this issue with. No problems with blueberries yet, and certainly no issues yet with grapes.

Not that much due to the cost. If you find it difficult to test : try munching a small amount up in your mouth and spitting into a mug (preferably one with a light colour / white colour) the iodine reaction should be visible in this case if it is starchy.
