Hi. I was a regular visitor, until recently, but I will be back soon enough, I'm sure. I live in Northen Ontario in a city called Sudbury http://www.city.sudbury.on.ca (now called the City of Greater Sudbury, due to amalgamation with the outlying towns http://www.city.greatersudbury.on.ca), at the cross roads of the trans Canada highway as it heads south to Toronto and east/west to Ottawa(to the East) and Thunder Bay (to the West). Sudbury's a mining town, the largest source of nickel in the free world (that's an old saying, isn't it???). However, at 150,000 we are far from the days when mining ruled the economy with an "iron" fist. We are a regional center for many things, government services and medical services being two of them. We have some of the best medical care available outside of the Major Cities (Vancouver, Toronto, Mantreal, etc.) and we were the site of the country's first heart transplant back in the 60's.

Here's another URL that shows some of the best Bell Park has to offer, if anyone's interested http://www.cyberbeach.net/~seajay/sudbury.html

Far from the typical mining town, we have 6 to 8 mile long Lake Ramsey (it's a bit irregular in shape, so it hard to know just how long...) within the city boundries that serves as a major recreation center, with fishing, watersports, several very safe sandy beaches, and water so clean that it is our main source of drinking water. Lake Ramsay is the site of Science North,http://www.sciencenorth.on.ca a world renowned science center (with an IMAX theatre, and a virtual voyages ride), Laurentian Universityhttp://www.laurentian.ca, and Bell Park...a 60 acre (??? I think it's that big??) piece of heaven on the north shore of the lake. Bell Park was land that was deeded to the town by the Bell family way back, for the use and enjoyment of the citizens of Sudbury for all time.

Just a wee taste of my corner of the world....BTW, I'd drop our long cold winters in a heart beat if I could!....Brrrr.

Bye for now. Darren.

Take Care...
