Bridge, that doctor sounds like a keeper!! I'm so glad you have a common-sense, no nonsense, compassionate one for this.
We had our Yule party on Saturday night (every year on the Saturday before the Solstice). It was really nice. The last guest left at about 2:30 or 3:00, then we were up with our overnight guest until shortly after 4:00!!
I have a tree and we sing carols, but it's pretty much understood that this is a party so that I can celebrate my holy day with people I love, no matter what they celebrate at this time of year. We get quite a mix every year. I'll have my own little observance this evening. I'm pretty much a bag of exhaustion today, since I wasn't quite recovered from the 4 in the morning thing, but this morning was well worth it!!
