Steph, if you know you can quit for that long, then you can do it. I, like you had quit for up to 4 yrs. at a time, but always went back. When I did quit for good it was by accident. I was going in for hip surgery in the spring of 97, and decided to just quit for a couple months, and go under the knife with my lungs clear, it was my easiest time knowing it was just temporary. Ever since, I just tell myself maybe tomorrow but not today. They still sound good, and smell good to me, but I really don't have any craving, but I know myself well enough, that if I had that first one, I would be back to a pack a day shortly. Good Luck
