I imagine we've all heard that laughing boosts the immune system .

That said, here's the biggest surprise I've had in a long time.

Laughing for 30 minutes is a huge workout. Who knew?

5 people showed up for the first Dungeness "Best Medicine" Laughter Club yoga session. 1 high blood pressure, 1 intermittent depression, 3 arthritis.

At first it was a little bit weird. eek2
But soon the "vowel movement" exercise had everyone roaring.

But one of the participants works as a clown. clown
This club member brought some funny body movements into play.

And another does actual yoga type yoga. yes
This one led some real yoga stretches with laughs attached.

And the other two of us just followed along and had a grand old time pretending to make milkshakes and throw them on other people.

By the time we wound down from the laughter exhaustion, we were all sweating and relaxed and not the slightest bit sore or stressed.

We ended with a group hug, a prayer, and a group laugh snort. I think that might be our new mantra ~ the laugh snort mantra.

It's official. Laughter is fun. clap ( I'm pretty sure everyone already knows this ) We're going public and putting our club in the paper next week.

Good giggles everyone laugh2
