Nice to meet you as well, and I also hope that what I am about to say doesn't offend you in anyway.

I happen to have a BA in English and an MLIS (Master of Library and Information Services), so I do know all the rules for quotations and completely understand things being taken out of context.

It was not my intention to mislead. I only posted the parts of the quotation that were the most disheartening to me. The entire part about no donations leading to the idea of scrapping the nonprofit organization idea was also upsetting, and I suppose is pertinent background information. Still, I think the quotations I posted were very telling completely on their own merits.

I understand the owner saying that he feels let down by the membership not donating enough, but using words like "so what?" What kind of context could ever support saying that about letting this support group fail?

And as you see, if some of us had known that funds were so dreadfully needed, then we would have probably been more giving in the first place.

Again, nice to meet you, and I'm sorry to seem so upset, but I have known John for a long time and have probably had as many arguments with him as anyone in the history of this site. Still, I know how much he used to care about people who suffer from this disease, and I still just cannot fathom him saying "who cares?" about the future of KickAS.
