Hi Carol,

I have been trying to get a service dog for over 2 years now. My family doctor at the time would not fill out the papers for a hearing service dog, because I am not profoundly deaf. I approached the Hearing Society here, they said they could not help me. With severe Auditory Processing Disorder, I don't understand what I hear - I am falling through the cracks. My hearing is within the low normal.

If this application goes no where - I will look into getting another miniature dachshund. I don't care if they raise my rent here - I need a puppy to help me understand what I hear, and deal with firealarm without having a panic attack each time it goes off. I don't smell smoke and cannot function when there is a fire alarm.
