On Wednesday I go in for an evaluation by a chiropractor the car insurance company hired. The beginning of June I was rear ended 3 times by the same crazy woman. It was low impact on the car but not on my neck or right shoulder. Since I have been getting treatment for so long my insurance company now wants a complete stranger to evaluate whether or not I can get further treatment at their expense. [No, the woman ran and the insurance company has not been able to track her down.] Gee......can you figure out how they are going to rate my injuries? They know I have pre existing conditions and I am worried that they are going to blame everything on those and deny me any compensation. My chiropractor is on my side and I am sure my rheumy will stand behind me as well. I am not healed yet. I am still having pain at the very top of my neck and in my right shoulder. Those are definitely from the accident and not my illnesses. I didn't have those problems before I was hit. I am taking a long time to heal but am doing a lot better than I was before. I am seeing a chiropractor (saw her for years before the accident so she knows my body and how it is supposed to move) and am getting massage therapy in the same office. The massage is for the shoulder and necks spasms. I will not sign anything before I talk to a lawyer and intend to let them know it. And I will ask what qualifications this person has to evaluate my pre existing conditions and how they relate to my accident and current pain. I think I will have to fight for what I get from them. I'm up for it but really hope I don't have to. I see my rheumy before the evaluation so I will ask him for any advice he may have. I am also going to ask him to write up his own evaluation of my condition before and after the accident.

I honestly don't believe this person will be impartial. How can they be when they are being paid by the insurance company? Oh well......we'll see what happens Wednesday.

Thanks for listening,
Christina
