I saw my Internal Medicine doc yesterday afternoon. I was hoping for something like Loracet for my pain because I knew from experience it really helped. But, being a narcotic pain killer, I was afraid that he would not prescribe it. Well, I was right. He didn't. He wanted me to try Bextra. When he told me it was similar to Celebrex I was thinking, "yeah, you might as well prescribe peppermints". Celebrex didn't do anything for me and neither did Vioxx. Indocin helped some, but hurt more than it helped. Anyway, I took my first 20mg dose this morning and WOW! What a day I've had. I haven't been this pain free in 5 years! Today I had no pain and no fatigue. I got so much accomplished at work. When I got home, instead of going straight to bed or the couch, I went outside and worked in the yard. I worked on my boys bicycles which were in need of repair. I played with my boys. I moved around like a healthy 40 year old instead of a 90 year old. It was so wonderful! I felt really alive. I didn't realize just how bad I have felt until I felt good for once. I totally didn't expect this. Can it be possible? Have I finally found the right med for me? A small amount of pain has creeped back in this evening, but nothing like I typically experience all day long.
I realize that many here have tried Bextra with mixed results, but it really worked well for me; even better than Loracet. Well, it has only been one day, but the relief I got today was nothing less than miraculous! Oh how I pray that tomorrow will be like today!
