Quite a few years ago, I discovered this site and spent a lot of time here, and learned a lot. Life took some turns and I haven't been here in years.

I really wanted the NSD to work, but I had a hard time getting the hang of it, but I finally did. At first, I felt a lot better, then I started having "digestive issues". It has taken me the last 6 years to figure out that I have an intolerance to corn (not an allergy). You would think that since I wasn't eating starch, it wouldn't have been a problem. I had no idea that every single medication I was taking had corn in it. In the last few months I have learned that nearly everything has a corn derivative in it.

My question - Is there anyone else with AS that has a corn intolerance?

Thanks,
Valentine

Hello Valentine,

Corn is starchy... so if NSD works for you, it may not be you are allergic, but rather cannot digest all the starch.

When I first started NSD I thought corn was safe... after I had been on diet I had couple meals with corn and all the aches came back.. it was then I discovered corn was starchy.

Curious if you use probiotics or probiotic food to help heal the intestines. I have been over a 15 years now with probiotics and it has helped me to handle some starch now on occasion.

Best to you,

Tim
