Once I got over the inital shock/anger I decided to get active too. I've worked my way up and now do kickboxing 4 days a week and swim too.

Kickboxing, too!?! cheerleader We don't have a kickboxer on the KickAS FITNESS TEAM yet.... what? Too obvious a hint? grin

hi my name is mike and im new to askick. after 8 yrs in pain management i weaned myself off pain meds. after 3 months on humeria i can get around but exercise with out pain meds is not a realistic goal. i do some streaching and walking, can only stay on my feet for about 15 min. i am thinking about joining the ymca to exercise in the pool. swimming is out, both sholders are shot. the y has a sauna and a hot tub, the heat sounds good to me

Yesterday I went skiing until the lifts stopped running. I was a little sore last night, but feel fine this morning. I skiing at Deer Valley in Park City. At one point I was thinking I guess my time in the moguls (bumps) is over. Then at the end of the day we found a run that was steep with lots of bumps, and if was a lot of fun.

Hey Mike,

I just joined the YMCA this week for the same reason; access to their pool! The nice thing about the pool at the Y over here is that the pool is no deeper than 4' which will be nice to do some walking if I can't pull off swimming for too long. And of course, the hot tub and sauna plan sounds good to me, too.

hi ed the pool at the y i go to is 3to 11 feet. they have classes in the shallow and deep ends of the pool. for now i go three times a week, at first i joined for 3 months just to get thru the winter. between the pool and a low starch diet i am starting to feel somewhat human once again. this site is a great source for information. this morning i have to get out early we have a big ugly storm coming. i used to like snow mike
