I have been on the no/low starch diet for about 2 1/2 years and it has worked pretty well in combination with Humeria, clebrex and pain pills . Lately I have started having alot of pain in my hands and am trying to find a way to help me deal with it . My Rheumatoligist (sp?)is hesitant with good reason to take what I belive is the next step , I would also like to avoid it . He has suggested that I may want to try Remicade If i can not mannage like this anymore .
Now to be honest i have searched around a little with out success in finding a Herbal supplement that will help , I am once again asking for suggestions from those that have been down this path before me.
Thanks
Jim

Hi, Jim:

Glad that the NSD has worked well enough to stay with it this long, and hope that you are able to try some of the other suggestions to help healing in general, and reduce pain, also.

I hope that you will try some EVOliveOil--at least 5g/day in addition to GLA from borage seed oil or other source--at least 2g effective before retiring and flaxseed or cod liver oils to make up over 11g oils daily.

Strong ginger tea, boswellia, and what has really helped me get over average flares is wheatgrass juice. Two or three days in a row I would drink about 4-6oz of the juice. Also, monodiets can help--canned sour cherries, according to some, have great benefits when taken alone for a couple of days. Some take several grams daily MSM, but I have not noticed a benefit, albeit after not trying a high enough dosage.

I hope some of this will help You, and am certain that the oils will, if you have not been taking enough by way of supplementation.

HEALTH,
John
