If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Iam travelling a lot and apolozise for not responding earlier.
John's and Zark's observations are interesting.
Food, skin type, sun exposure, skin cancer? As Zark mentioned, I eat vegetarian food + dairy. Also Iam from South India and have a skin type 4/5. So, far I did not hear skin cancer issues from friends/relatives. On the other hand many people from South India are non-vegetarians(meat-eaters) and do spend good amount of time in sun (no sun screens). So far I don't know of cases of skin-cancer. I will explore skin cancer rates in South India.
I guess the skin type (as opposed to food ) may have a greater impact on sun exposure?
Life style change and spondylitis connection?
I learnt that my ancestors did not have spondylitis(3 generations). It seems they used to walk a lot ( and used little/no vehicles). Spondylitis showed up in my father's generation onwards. Lifesyle changed from outdoors to indoors. Father is a professor and me a computer professional.
I suspect the genes evolved over years to take advantage of sunlight and lack of exposure to sunlight triggered a bunch of problems.

hi krishna, actually I was thinking that a healthy diet would have more extensive effects then the cancer prevention. It seems sensible (to me at least) to assume that a good diet would also helps your body to convert sunlight into vitamin D, utilise the vit D, etc, etc.

Hi Zark, If you find any articles, could you pls. post. You may be right, a healthy diet is helpful. Even though I am not on any specific diet, as far as possible I avoid eating in restaurants. Hope you are doing well. How is Ted doing? Rgds., Krishna

Hi, All the AS info I have, I posted in my website or kickas.org. I stopped studying/collecting AS info for the last few years as I don't have AS symptoms (pain, swelling, stiffness). Thanks.,

I was surprised when my vitamin D levels were rather low after getting back an analysis. I've routinely taken cod liver oil, but this doesn't seem to be enough. I think I will start adding more sunlight. The rheumatic condition makes me so cold most of the time anyway, I think I instinctively want to sit in the sun these days.

Krishna,
It is nice to hear from you. Feels great to be pain free isn't it? Previously when I tried sun treatment after I read your story it used to cause me a flare and used to get hives. Nowadays I enjoy facing the hot sun for 30 minutes everyday and get no flares or hives. The whole body feels relaxed after exposure to the sun.

Hi there I just wanted to mention that I try to avoid sunlight. I find that if I spend time out in the sun then I am in worse pain . I guess for some the sunlight helps and for others the sunlight hurts.
Take care Valerie

Hi Johnny I agree with you that the sunlight makes my AS worse. I try to avoid the sunlight as much as possible because if i spend any amt of time in the sun the next day I am in agony. I mentioned this to several doctors and they all seem to think that I should feel better with the sun. I was tested for Lupus and it came back neg .
Take care Valerie
