For those interested, I'm posting my dropbox link to Ebringer's paper on MS and an abbreviated excerpt from Dr. Max Garten's book '"Civilized" Diseases and Their Circumvention.'

I did not want to start another forum, as this is not a topic we have enough familiarity with, but for some of us who have had this diagnosis due to using anti-tnf-a agents or otherwise friends who might have this condition. There is much more to say, but I have no more direct experience or knowledge than described in my meager contribution.

HEALTH,
John

DragonSlayer- I read the article again...
I have had so many cavities in my molars
repeated sinus infections

What I read seems to ring true.

As you know even a little starch throws me into flare.

Tell you wife hi!

Thanks Steve and Lon--

It was so great seeing each of You last year, and I will always remember both taking the time to come and see us--a genuine honor!

Blessings,

I found the article (Multiple Sclerosis) to be incredibly interesting. I swear my brother got all the good enamel and I did not get much. I pay for extra health insurance just for additional dental coverage. I have also had sinus infections over the years. Thanks again! smile

Mercury toxcicity can cause symptoms of MS.

The idea that Hg in the teeth provide a metal for biofilms to form in the head -- sinuses in particular -- is very plausible. And of course once those biofilms are established the biofilm has emergent properties that are more than the sum of its parts!

For each person the microorganism that triggers the MS syndrome will be different.
For a lady in John's article it appeared to be Acinetobacter calcoaceticus

In the case of the lady in this YouTube video it was Chlamydia pneumoniae
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpMvDe8-qsM

And a given microorganism probably can cause different diseases in different people.

I was talking to a third year medical student in the hallway a week ago and she was familiar with these ideas and says that they are taught in her classes. So, times are changing -- even here in China. There is hope!

But the trick may be to not to see your old doctor that is only a few years from retirement and has no energy or motivation to be up-to-date, but see a young, energetic and (still) conscientious doctor that hasn't been out of school for more than five years.

HLA-B27 neg, vague AS symptoms in 20s and early 30s
1993:fibromyalgia (age 25)
2013.07:Reverse blockage in a SCUBA accident
2013.08:Scratched by a sick cat
2013.09:Strange sore throat then meningitis
2014:Chronic inflammation at the base of the skull
2014 to early 2015:excess NSAID use developed complete axial inflammation, included psoriasis
NSD helped well and but was not perfect
2018.07: weak +'ve tests for borrelia, babesia, bartonella and mycoplasma pneumonia using Armin Lab, ANA=equivocal

I'm so interested in the intersections between all of these autoimmune diseases - and also the intersections between how the various treatments works for several different illnesses. My sister is taking methotrexate again and it's helping her lupus more than the RA it was prescribed for.

I attended a seminar about A.S. some years ago. One of the lectures there a professor of rheumatology said that once a cure was found for one such autoimmune disease then a cure would soon follow for other such diseases. He included A.S. cancer and even Aids in his list of possible cures. When asked how long till then he said at least ten years. That was over ten years ago and we are still waiting.

MS - Possible a another diagnostic bedfellow for AS ? ...Yet another comorbidity...?
Can't invent it - but looks to be on the cards. Has been found in the family - paternal side : found in three sections of.
Awaiting to see the neurologist for definitive Dx, but everything points to.
Not a particularly happy bunny, particularly in reference to the irreversible visual developments.
A supportive friend points out that MS is a fairly well known friend of AS...Ho-Hum.
Am *not on biologics and never have been. Had to chuck the NSAIDs after they ruined my gut. Reasonable diet with an eye to curtailing the starches.
Anyone else here with AS + Dx of comorbidity of MS ? ?
Would be grateful for input - and info on management of etc etc.
Thanks -

Thanks John - Article of interest - Have printed it off -
But do wonder if anyone else here has thrown a diagnosis of MS together with all the other stuff, and, if so, how are they getting on ??
Keeping on, Keeping - Cheers
