Hi Everyone,

I wanted to post and see if I could start a conversation that shows the appreciation for KickAS members that help us through our difficult days. Oscars, Sag Awards, Grammy's, etc,.. but they mean nothing to me. We should show our appreciation for people here on the site that help us in our day to day lives.

So here's my plan, everyone post a name that they have found comfort from reading their posts. No award (sorry), no media, but a cyber-pat on the back for a gift of humor, or comfort, or understanding, even just the guts to share difficult times.

To be P.C.,.. all members add something, and this isn't for the popularity or most frequent votes, it's a personal thing. A Thank you.

So altho my subject line is KickAs Nomination, I appreciate,... (Drum Roll) Old George.

For sarcastic humor that makes me laugh out loud. When I can't respond myself because I have no experience in the subject matter, Old George brings me closer with humor.

And the next nominees are,....

was going to nominate the fabulous ineptwill for his quiet humour and ever present quirky smile! However given that you might think that to be rather fulsome, and can't see the smile anyway, then I nominate the lovely (Looking, talking brainy smiley kindly)

My list of people is so long - Old George, Mig, SteveC, Strutsy, AngelMom, Klem, Loz (to name a very few of the people who have helped me here). But I suppose, if forced, and for the purposes of this thread, I think I'll nominate Sassy - for her honesty and no BS way handling of things.

As Kat said, there are so many people here that deserve a thank you, not the least of which is my husband and fellow member, Loz. However, since I am so grateful for the opportunity to tell him this in person, nearly every single day, I'll officially nominate another, unrelated KA family member.

So, without further ado, I nominate Klem for all the love and concern she pours into her thoughtful posts, and for all the work she does privately behind the scenes, without any opportunity for thanks or recognition, for those at most in need at KA. You're such a gem.

What a great idea, I am going to have to split the award in two, and the way it turns out is not a male /female thing, it just so happens to be the case.
To Brother Lon, what a star. A man who has been through so much yet has so much to give, a true great.
And to Lori, not an AS sufferer herself, thankfully, but the mother of Eric, who has AS. She always understands what is needed, when it comes to listening to any one of us who may be feeling down.
SO there they are my true ASkickin nominees.

I have a special list of folks I would love to include, but I will mention ONE now from that list:

the gentleman who just doesn't sit on the sidelines when things get mucky, and who knows when a person might need some chocolate

Kat always has her humor to make me chuckle as we share our love of chocolate and thoracic on fire drivi you insane pain!! Donna...so many late night chats during our worst flares! Cheryl...she helped me so so much when I joined as she had gone through much of the same that I went through. Klem without a doubt and all her support during my worries with my Giannas health !! Luv ya' Klem...a genuine friend indeed.

for the fellas...Mike aka Anon4now....my aussie pal!! Lon..your stories...i still remember the beer truck incident and many other stories that you have shared. your determination to keep helping others even through your worst flares. and steve who welcomed me also when first joining this lovely place. oh and Brent aka Blester...always there with info on xrays and back issues that have helped me so much!

I agree with the others in that there are waaay to many pple here who've helped me so much over the years (I've been coming here practically since the original site was 1st founded by Brian!)
I could begin with Brian, for starting this place all those years ago.
Then all the others, including Tony, then Loz and his team of helpers, who took on the responsibility of keeping it going (b4 we all went into mass hysterics!) and finally revamping it into what it is now......
Then there are all the others who helped me out personally in those early days when I'd just been dxd - Teddi, Cristina, DakotaDan, Becky, Fairy Sue, BBJ.....I'm going back to the "history" question again now.......
It's been so long I've forgotten many of the names......
Loz has always been a great help whenever I (frequently!) have computer problems.
Jeanna has been wonderful with her answers to my medical questions.
Evelyn has been amazing with her info from the various medical sites (and translating them into English for me!).
Cheryl, Lisa, Buggy, Maggie, John (Cheerful), Michelle....oh, the list is just too long.....for helping to keep me sane!!!
So to everyone here at KA......

To all that brave retailiation due to passion, to all that support endlessly, to all that revel humor as weapontry in this fight of our lives, to all that provide the links that help answer our many questions, to all that have continued to share their personal lives with us, these ppl are you and me. There are so many people that helped shape me to what I am today that used to be on this site.

When Eric got sick, I had no one in my personal life that I could really talk to...No one that could understand what I was going through,...

When I was introduced to KA, and the help that I got from the people here....It was amazing.

People would stay up all night with me crying.

People would talk to me about decisions reguarding Erics meds.

People would discuss this disease with.

I owe so much to KA, and the members that were here for me, and are here for me now, that I could never repay anyone.

I have made so many good friends here. Friends that I could call in the middle of the night because I was afraid, or could call me. The clock means nothing when a friend needs you.

I dont post here like I should anymore.....

I dont always feel that I can contribute...Eric is doing so much better, and I have the good people here to thank for that also.

So my list....my list comes from the KA ghost, the KA members that are here now, and the KA members of the future.
