I could join in on one of the threads about sciatica and S-I pain right now, but I am relatively sure that what I've been suffering is pretty well to be expected, considering my ever shifting center of gravity. I am so thankful I can still walk at this point, I'm really not that upset about the pain. Truth is, in my present state, my dear hubby lets me take as many naps as I might deem necessary these days, and he does practically everything around the house that might hurt, so I can't complain.

I just wanted to pop in and let everyone that cares know that I'm still alive (and not the only one kicking ). Also, by all reasonable accounts it seems that the next member of our family will be a (so far perfectly healthy) little boy, giving hubby and I an even two of each. Just wanted to share.

Loving these baby updates, its just such happy news, and gives me hope and reassurance that one day i will be able to cope when my time comes to be a mummy.

Keep up the good resting Chelle, and keep us posted

Guess I have to stretch my arms a little further these days to encompass the 'both' of you. Which I'll manage regardless, considering it sounds like you could use one about now.

Good to hear from you with an update. Hang in there kiddo, thankfully it's only temporary.

Hey Chelle!

Sorry that I haven't responded to any of your updates to, er date. I have been reading and wishing you well telepathically.

So glad to hear such a positive sounding post, with such happy news! I'm enjoying watching that little car move along the road. Keep taking care of you and the wee one. Lots of good thoughts coming your way.

Love,
Jeanna

Congrats Chelle!
I always wanted to have a son! I love my girls, I hear boys are fun too!!!!
Posted By: LadyFierce Re: Update - 01/27/06 02:48 AM
Thank you guys for the thoughts & well wishes.

Buggie- LOL @ the air in the tires. Joshua was a little chunker when he was that age, too. Of course, he's bigger than I am now, too. I'm still shopping for the lightest stroller I can find... think I want the Graco Metrolite at Babies R Us.

Sarah- I know you'll be just fine when the time comes.

Kat- Thanks for the long-armed hugs. They're sure appreciated. I feel your cyber love

Jeanna- Thanks for the good thoughts You and Loz have all my telepathy right back, I read more than I type these days as well.

Kate- I don't think we had a preference of one sex or the other, but I have to admit, when we're going through a "teenage female moment" there is a part of me that's just a wee bit relieved we're having another son

Hugs to you all as well

Sorry you are hurting but glad you have a great hubby and are in great spirits. Little things mean so much when you are in pain and probably so much more now that you are pregnant, that I can only imagine.

Oh Chelle,

I so feel for you with the SI pain...and having to carry a baby with it.

You are so lucky that your husband is helping and seeing that you need the extra rest.

There are so many that do not have good support systems, and I think their families need a little bop on the head with a newspaper....ok maybe a big bop...lol

Well, with us having 3 girls and our last one being a little prince he is kind of spoiled.

we wouldnt have cared either as long as he wasnt a puppy...lol

I so hope your pregnancy will go smooth and uneventful, you deserve that after everything else you have been thru lately.

You know I am here for you,

Lisa

Sharon- I have definitely gained a whole new appreciation for the "little things". Like tying my own shoes....

Deah- It took quite a while for my hubby to understand what was going on. He was with me for the many years of misdiagnoses and "it's all in your head's". Once we figured out what was going on, and after he started learning more about this @$%#$$@* disease, he slowly started getting better about it. Now he is my greatest champion. I wish the same for you.

Pat- Oh, I'm afraid this boy will be terribly spoiled. If not by me and his Daddy, then by Josh & Kaylie and all of their teenage friends. We definitley won't be short on sitters

Lisa- Hubby is doing wonderfully, although he has had his share of little bops on the head in the past . And He wants a puppy, too... talk about wanting to have it all!

Betty- So good to hear from you! I kind of figured you'd been busy. I'm pretty sure I have less work ahead of me in my current project than you do in yours. There's a reason why people tend to have more children than weddings You look great, by the way. Try not to stress yourself out on everything. I'm sure the wedding will be lovely.

(Do you realize that the wedding is just one week after this babe is due?) We definitely have to get together. You aren't moving far, are you?

Linc- Thanks for the sleep wishes. Boy am I needing them. I do have a few of those natural remedies up my sleeve for really bad moments. Just hoping I don't outgrow my little bathtub!

Jude- Thank you for the well wishes. I don't think I've had a chance to officially say, "Hello". Hope that you find as many great friends here as I have.

Lori- You crack me up, too! I hope that things are starting to look up for you? I know you've been having some "not so fun" times yourself. You've been in my prayers.

Ann- I will try to keep you up to speed, although some days, this doesn't feel very "speedy" You know after we spent the day with your sweet little boys, we had to have another one of our own... they have such cool toys nowadays!

Heather- Thank you for the congrats! I'm sorry to hear of the troubles you've been having lately, as well. I'm keeping you in my prayers that things will subside soon.

Ben- Is that respond to my post without speaking to me Ben? Get my baby stuck on Jefferson Airplane Ben? Tease me with chocolate that runs out Ben? Hi to you too!

Love You all!

Chelle,

Thanks for the compliment. The lady that is doing my hair for the wedding did a trial run back in Oct. I had Jim take me out to eat afterwards! He took pics after the dinner.

The hair is going to be slightly different than the pic but not much.
The wedding has been the easy part although there have been lots of details.
Looking for a home and the upcoming move will be more difficult. LOL

Wow, did not know that the wedding is just one week after this babe is due !! What an exciting time.
After you get settled with the baby and the wedding is over, we'll have you guys over to the new house.
We are staying in Carrollton ..........just getting something a little bigger than my current home.

Take care. The time will fly.

Posted By: alohaben Re: Update - 01/30/06 02:07 PM
chelle,

is that one of those " you talkin' t' me ?" interjections.

i am so backed up...in the chocolate department...with the stuff with my mom and all, i didn't do any chocolates
for the christmas holiday...so there are a couple of regular giftees who probably feel neglected.

i actually placed orders for about $ 125 in chocolate from my distributors back in november...so i even have the
stuff i want in stock...(except the white chocolate)...i kind of half promised myself some valentines day production
cause the jefferson buddies will be in nyc on 17 feb...

but i'm having trouble defeating inertia (probably need a pedometer)...we'll just have to see...makin' a list

have you read 'sing a song of six pence' yet ?

all my best

Bradford- Fortunately, my not-so-wee-ones have been helpful and understanding for the most part. If I had my way, the AS would just have to wait until I get around to dying before I could pay attention to it... but of course it doesn't work that way.

Betty- The hair looks great! Jim is a good guy. I know you two will be so happy. Good luck in the house hunt. Yes, call after you get settled.

Ben- The chocolates were wonderful, but I'm teasing you. It sounds like a lot of work, and I'm greatful for what I got. Yes! I did read Sing A Song of Sixpence, and I absolutely loved it. Kind of a picture of life the way it should be. I've been working on the rest of the book, but I'm not getting in as much reading time as I probably should be able to these days. Thanks so much for the "mental escape"!

Michelle- Thanks so much! Hope your son is feeling better? I've been keeping you both in my prayers.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. You guys are the best!

Any idea what BabyFierce's name will be?

Big preggers hugs!! AS and pregnancy is no walk in the park!! I remember every, single day I was pregnant with Ethan!! So worth it, though!! I love my WeeBee!!

Is this a private discussion, or can I butt in?

You mentioned Sing a Song of Six Pence, and Chelle's reply sounds intriguing. I looked on Amazon for a book of that name and only came up with nursery rhymes. Can I ask what it's about, and how to get it? I'm always looking for good books to read.
Posted By: alohaben Re: Update - 02/01/06 02:20 PM
sl, aloha

'sing a song of sixpence' is a short story written by james norman hall back in the 1920's and probably
published originally in the atlantic monthy...it appears in several anthologies of 'south pacific/island' type stuff.

if you'd like a book recommendation...' MY ISLAND HOME ' by J.N. Hall (greenwood press)- it's his autobiography.
Jim Hall and his partner Charles Nordhoff wrote many books in the middle of the last century including the
definitive fictional account of the mutiny on the bounty...i think he's the best author of the 20 th century.

Nordhoff and Hall both flew for the French in world war I...war heros...they settled in Tahiti in the 1920's...
lived in poverty on their french military pension, discussed great events and philosophy, and wrote a series
of novels...hall also wrote essays and short stories...nordhoff went 'native' married several tahitian women
and moved to beyond the end of the road somewhere on tahitititi; hall married late and lived in arue( 2 kids-
son a cinematographer in la and a daughter who lives in hawaii)

when the french tried to bannish the 'pareo' the tahitian lavalava wrap, hall wore one to every function;
when the french tried halt the speaking of tahitian, hall learned the language and supported aschool teaching in tahitian.
hall supported the independence movement in tahiti, new caledonia and vietnam...he died in the 1960's and is
burried on a hill overlooking the tahara'a- one tree hill, mata'avai bay and point venus...never learned to drive a car.

Thanks Holly! Yeah, no walking in parks for me these days, but definitely worth it all.

We're thinking of naming him Zachary Alexander. Zachary means "remembered by God"~ figured that was appropriate for a kiddo that took 13 years to get here

Congratulations on the coming baby. I hope that you have a raincoat handy ;-) As you should know, little boys have a tendency to cause a lot of showers I have three sons, and I do understand what you are saying about AS and carrying babies (though I did not know that I had AS, just that I had a fractured coccyx).

I am not so sure about the boys being fun

I have a family structure that reminds me of a TV series. When my third son was born I could not help but see the irony of having: "MY THREE SONS"

Thanks Maggie. It's kind of nice to have a place to go where women know what I mean when I talk about being pregnant with AS. Other women either think I'm risking death, or think I'm whining too much, I think. Good luck with that housefull of three. My hubby is one of three boys, and Oh! the stories I've heard!
