If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

For any of you having a bad day--thought I'd make you feel a little better. My wonderful 13 yr. old son shot himself in the ankle yesterday! Yep! With a real gun! He was getting into grandpa's guns without permission or supervision and accidently pulled the trigger and shot himself in the ankle. Thank goodness it was what they call "snake shot" which is alot of little bb's cause the bone stopped them without shattering it. He is very sore today and hobbling around, but after hrs in the ER and surgeon's office, he will be okay. He is now know as "Gunsmoke" in the family and I am sure he will never live this down. We are really grateful that it all turned out the way that it did, cause it really could have been tragic--a great lesson learned by all of us. So--we had a very memorable memorial day. Hope yours was much better. Laurie

OMG Laurie, Thank God your son is ok, like you said it could have been sooooo much worse. I hope he has learned his lesson and I hope his grandpa has really learned his in locking them up where the kids can't get into them. Take care and hope your heart beat has returned to normal... I know mine would take awhile to get back Hope your son is doing well. Pam "Just like moons and like suns, with the certainty of tides. Just like hopes springing high, Still I'll rise." Thanks for your concern Anon, we don't own any guns--thank goodness. My Dad has quiet a few cause he hunts, and has a locking cabinet, but with not having any kids around on a regular basis, he usually keeps it unlocked. He locked it immediately and I am sure that it will remain that way now. Thanks. Laurie

Thankyou Pam. Yes, it really was very scary. He was very lucky that it hit where it did. The surgeon said he was only an inch away from the main artery. He is in pain, but that is a good reminder of what he did. He is also on crutches as his ankle is very swollen and tender, and the biggest problem we have is to keep a constant watch on it so he doesn't get an infection. He only has today and tomorrow to go until school is out. I am taking him part day today for a final he has to take, but that will probably be it. Thanks again for your concern. I hope this will be a good reminder to anyone who might have guns in their homes. Laurie
