Risk of venous thromboembolism in ankylosing spondylitis: a general population-based study.
Venous thromboembolism (VTE), including pulmonary embolism (PE) and deep venous thrombosis (DVT), can be life threatening. An increased frequency of VTE has been found in inflammatory conditions. To date, evidence assessing whether this risk is also greater in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is scarce. Using the provincial British Columbia, Canada..

Interesting - seems to be a link to inflammatory conditions.
Anyone had such ?
I have had a DVT with a PE (pulmonary embolism). Now on an anticoagulant - probably for life.
Take care all - and don't forget to 'move it'...

Updating here.
Had a VTE including a double PE, several months ago. Was a bit of a go. Hospitalised until stabilised - received good care, and doing OK, though still get breathless. One staggers on...!!
Was interested to see the above paper that I had put up in Feb 2019. Must copy over to my medical team.
Take care, all - and keep on moving -
