When my wife had Trigeminal neuralgia it was caused by blood vessels tented up against the fifth cranial nerve that runs down the jaw. The vessels that were tented up were in the brain. Took several years to figure out problem. At first idea was that it was caused by teeth. She was ready to have all teeth removed when she sat in the chair of a dentist that said you have come to the right place. It is not a tooth problem. Glad you are improving. Her problem came and went for about 5 years. It has been 20 plus years now since she was cured. It gave her, her life back.

How did they treat it, Smed? I think mine has been caused by inflammation. The belief is that an autoimmune response caused the trigeminal nerve to become inflamed.

My wife has firbromyalgia and had tic- doloreux which involves the trigeminal nerves in the face. The 5th cranial nerve to be exact. Maybe not the same problem. It involved surgery to untangle the blood vessels that were tented up against the nerve. .

I think anything involving any branch of the triageminal nerve is terrifying. I'm very glad they were able to do something for her, Smed.
