I've never heard of prostatitis as being related to (caused by) AS. That's often more of a urinary tract infection issue.

AS symptoms started 1991. Official dx in 2006 with HLA-B27+, fused SIJ, bone spurs in back, extreme rib/hip pain, and other family with SpA. Started Enbrel in 2006 with good results, but stopped in 2010 due to nerve damage (MS) from it. Getting good results with no-starch diet since 2011.

I've suffered from similar issues for around 2 years now, on & off. On at the moment.
May be pelvic floor muscle related, rather than actual prostatitis. Difficult to differentiate. especially if it's of the chronic variant. Which mine seems to be, with no infection present.
My most unenjoyable pastime is sitting on a hard chair lol.

It is difficult for us to determine where this pain is coming from at times. This stinking disease seems to be able to affect our whole lives.

But we must keep fighting it.

Lon,
Your not wrong there. It's been a fight for me for around the last 26 years, from the onset of my A.S.
Are you suffering from similar pelvic floor symptoms?

Yes, my pelvic area has been terrible painful..
I got sick in 1963. At times it was just a stiff lower back.
But for the last 20 years it has been nearly demonic.

I do know starch has an affect.

I seem to have almost every symptom of as/ ms/ Fibro / rheuma /there is lol.

Keep reading, stay strong and of course journal what seems to help.
