If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi everyone
I was just wondering if anyone is aware of any link between high histamine foods/histamine intolerance and AS flare ups?
Thanks William

Hello, William:
When I was doing some research on Klebsiella, I found a link between this germ and histamine production in fish. It seems that although the germ is rather stealthy, its presence causes considerable histamine production in adjacent cells.
When I had active AS (before NSD+antibiotics), I had asthma that was both seasonal (rare) and triggered by certain foods (Brazil and macadamia nuts, especially). After the successful treatment of AS, the asthma almost totally disappeared.
Perhaps there is a histamine connection there.
HEALTH, John

I'm currently exploring the histamine (and MAST cell) link with my condition and now wonder if I don't have PsA or SpA (Spondyloarthritis) at all.
Being both HLA-B27 and radiographic negative, the only thing my rhuematoligist had to go on to diagnose SpA / AS in me was clinical (ie what I said, SI joint pain improving with SOME exercises, and the fact that I have what may be psoriasis (no biopsy)).
No Starch diet for about 18mths seemed to do little for me.
I've now been on Lion Diet (Lamb, Beef, venison, salt, water) for about 2 months with no real change.
Slow roasted meats seem to flare the psoriasis and give me a runny nose and slight headache within minutes of consumption (typical in histamine intolerance).
Even chicken breast with virtually no lamb fat to cook it caused what I assume is a histamine response.
Finding unaged meat in Australia is proving difficult.
Right now I'm digging through sites like mastcell360.com but figure I may need to pay $79 for the mast cell guide and start supplementing DAO (Diamine Oxidase).
I'd love to hear any other peoples insights but am now wondering if I don't have AS at all!

I have Non-radiographic Axial Spondyloarthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis. NSDiet (on and off NSND) for 18mths with mostly only moderation of psoriasis. SI joint and back seem to be getting slowly worse. A Chinese herbalists "Itch Cream" worked wonders on psoriasis (one small application weekly!). Can it's ingredients be taken internally for AS?
