The GI tract, and all the microbes therein, is an amazing thing.
Something hit me on Wednesday (either food poisoning, but what? or a GI viral bug, but no one else seems to have gotten it?). I was down for the count on Wednesday. The morning consisted of being in the bathroom...."projectile" and "explosive" were used in the same sentence. I wasn't really concerned until blood showed up. But the doctors office wanted me to come in and give me a C-diff test kit to take home; I wasn't leaving 20 feet of my bathroom and they wouldn't allow my husband to pick up the kit, so we were at an impasse. I figured if the blood continued to the next day, I'd see a doctor then, but it only lasted about 9 hours (every hour or so I'd have a little bit of clotted blood come out). Still don't know if it was hemorrhoids, a polyp, or colitis, but it stopped, and each day has slowly been better and better.
I did nothing but sleep on wednesday and no exercise since. Slowly allowing my body to return to normal. Had a fever on wednesday but it was gone by friday. BP was elevated but lower by saturday. I even went in to work for a few hours on friday, but not pushing it.
On wednesday I ate almost nothing, drank almost nothing as my stomach couldn't handle much: all day I consumed some jello (the only truly soothing thing), 2 tblsp of rice, a bit of chicken, ½ cup apple sauce, 2 cups chamomile tea. Each day I've consumed a bit more, but no veggies besides yams and white potatoes and no fruits except applesauce and canned pears. The main proteins have been chicken and egg, finally had some scrapple yesterday, and lamb is on the menu soon.
Taking my probiotics and eating coconut milk yogurt. Also using the psyllium. But no other supplements for now. And didn't even take my meds the first day and didn't take my metformin ER for several days.
However, silver lining: I have lost a few pounds.
The only exercise I've had the last few days is to walk around the yard and admire nature's colors.

Wow Sue, that sure sounds like what happened to me a few times before I became refractory to NSAIDS. Specifically Voltaren gel, which was a bummer because I love that stuff! Hopefully it's just a bug that you're body has slain!
GrumpyAlly, have you heard of yoga meditation they're offering it at my gym.
Today I swam for 25 minutes and raked/hauled leaves for an hour. We have free city pick up in two days.
Yesterday I logged 4,880 steps. I really have to see how far that is...
thanks erica, that sounds terrible that you had that happen repeatedly.
i'm much better now so thank you; hoping that doesn't happen again!
today was a lovely fall day for a walk. low 50s. sun. pretty trees and bush colors. about ½-1 mile.

We took a walk yesterday. Didn't pay attention to how long or how far. It was so pretty. its past peak color now, but the maples are so brilliantly colored now.

took a walk this afternoon, maybe 2 miles? for about 45 minutes.
lovely weather here, around 70 monday through thursday...taking advantage of the nice weather while we have it. Can't believe near 70 in november!
Something about the warm sunny weather and the bright golden trees that make it extra special.
