New symptoms: anyone have this? Both feet, exactly the same joints: base of big toe and joints closest to toenail. Slightly swollen, grinding pain, heat within the joint. Uh, seems kind of RA-ish? Not my usual spondylitis pain. Waiting for an appointment.

Yes!! My husband and I both do. We both have RA and that toe joint pain is similar to thumb joint pain for me.
A paraffin bath really helps if you have one. My husband had his wrapped the heating pad a couple of nights ago.

I also have a spondyloarthropathy, my greatest area of pain are the feet.
I have pain in left foot big toe, also swelling in right foot finger (second finger) and the base of the toes (metatarsals), plantar fasciitis and heel pain.
I feel better with a collagen injections pricking my podiatrist, but also gives me a general injection containing other drugs besides collagen .....
I used custom templates for many podiatrists and did not improve much ... inflammation is due to illness.
I take supplements and diet do to try to bring the best possible inflammation, though I work standing for 8 hours ....
I find it very interesting what paraffin baths ... interests me, as I could get to do that?
I remember a few years ago in the therapist used the paraffin
This week I start with Enbrel, this worries me a bit .... but we must fight

i've had toe joint pain, but for me, it was the tendon along the top of the toe.
ice is my first go to. heat is my second go to. alternating ice and heat is the most effective i'll set up two basins; one with very hot water, one with very cold / ice water....a minute or two in a basin, back and forth, total of ~15-20 minutes....several times a day.

I think you will feel like new on Enbrel After time you can try with a lower dose reducing risks of side effects.

I didn't quite understand your reference to paraffin baths. You can get the bath and the paraffin and a beauty supply store. It is great for your hands. It is just good for them and the winter dry weather but wonderful for the arthritic pain.
