Many years ago when I first found Brian's website on AS there were just 40 people and 38 of us could not even spell Ankylosing Spondylitis much less know what to do about it.
Now we are over 11,000 members from all over the planet who have helped and are helping each other each and every day.
What pillow to use, have a sauna, get exercise, have a great diet (we have recipes!), tell a joke, get inspiration, learn the science, how'd your surgery go, let's have an AS get together (I've been to many and they are fantastic!), I'll inspire you with this story, did I say tell a joke? Yep (I've been reading this fantastic book on anti-gravity and I just can't put it down), these tips will astound you....etc etc..

Yes, like our wonderful friend Lon says - "I love this place!"

Thanks everyone.

Timo-
There must be two Lons????
I do agree that this is a wonderful place.

It has been very rewarding to see so many new members writing responses more accurately then I could write.

Timo- thanks for being a doundational rock for this site.

I put together list of milestones for member numbers... but we are over 12,000. I see some numbers were not present like 8,000 and 10,000. So assume that is why somewhat of discrepancy with your number prior.

It has been pretty amazing. When I first found Brian's site we had just got our first PC, and I as I was learning to use it, and had AS, I figured out how to spell it, and put in a search. I found Brian's site, and was to shy and green to post, but I read it every night. I think there were about a dozen active posters at the time. Finally registered after this forum had been formed and operated a while. The yrs. do get away.

I joined in 2002... but first came across Kickas in August/Sept 1999 when living in Ohio.

In 1999 was the second time I had to come off my meds because of elevated liver enzymes and I went searching what I could do... found Kickas and the NSD diet and did it for a month with pretty good results.

Did not know there was a forum at that time so did not join... also in October I could go back on my medications and dropped the No Starch Diet only to return to it in March 2002.

Long live Kickas!

Tim
