Well after waiting to be approved for the Simponi injection, I finally got a call last week to have the delivery sent to my home. It arrived this morning (Jan 7th) by courier and was extremely well packaged and secure, there was a nice large ice pack to keep everything cold plus alcohol wipes and cotton wool balls (this bodes well for future deliveries) I mention this because the company supplying the Simponi to my area here in the UK changed around November/December 2013 and I would have been having my first injection sooner but complications between the change over ment I had to wait till the start of January. The leaflet that came in the Simponi box giving the instructions and information was excellent and the auto pen itself is extremely easy to use and I felt completely no pain at all during the injection and have no bruising around the injection site itself. So that's number one down and the start of next month will be number two, followed by number three and by then hopefully I will see some improvement. My best wishes and regards to you all for the New Year and here's hoping that you all have a little joy come into your lives, sometimes something so simple can make you smile and feel good and for that moment you forget about the pain.

Simponi's autoinjector is primo! No pain. Really. After being thwacked with the Enbrel auto device, I was glad to go to syringes. A couple of blips with my pharmacy meant I got a couple of auto devices on Simponi during the 8-9 months I took it. Hope the Simponi is good for you.

Excellent! clap

I still curse every time I get my Humira shot due to the pain of the med? preservative? going in. The shot doesn't hurt, but then it starts to really hurt.

Nice to hear you don't have the same issues with the Simponi.

But hope the Simponi helps you as much or more than the Humira helps me. That's why I put up with the pain. At least I'm done with crying or screaming and only curse now smile

I'm about to receive my 2nd dose of Simponi this week. So far it has really helped...I was experiencing a lot of joint pain as a result of my AS (mainly knee, shoulder, wrist and foot). Since my first shot i'd say im about 95% pain free in my foot and wrist..about 90% in my knee and 85% in my shoulder which still noticeably is nagging me on a daily basis.
I've been holding off from exercising but am hopeful that if this next shot improves on my current condition I'm hopeful

I had my 3rd dose of Simponi the other week. I was able self inject which is pretty sweet because of my busy schedule and not having to coordinate with a nurse. Very simple and pain free.
After this 3rd dose I'd say I'm feeling 99% back to normal before all of this started 8 months ago. I've been back to the gym as of last week lifting weights and doing long rides on my road bike as if I had no problems whatsoever (besides being out of shape from not doing any exercise)

Apparently Simponi can take up to 6months to achieve it's results for people so I hope that this continues to work for me and anyone else trying it.

Their auto-injector is painless, essentially, compared to Humira's or Enbrel's. Even the syringes don't hurt much. Glad this is working for you. I took Simponi for 9 months and it never really lasted the whole month for me. It did help, though. Just not enough to justify the cost to the insurance company.

I have been on Simponi for about 2 years. I feel I am still getting improvement on it. I do get flare ups from time to time and then I take Prednisone to help the flare up subside. I have gotten my life back due to Simponi. Hope you have great success with it as well.
