If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Everyone I was just wondering, wondering if I am the only one who spends 15-16 hours sleeping. On Monday,I went to bed around 7pm. too tired after work, plus my neck and shoulders have been bothersome. Maybe my big head is the problem. Anyway I slept from 7pm to 10 am. Pretty much slept the whole night through. I already have a cpap machine so I don't think that is the problem. I am just wondering if this is typical or should I be real concerned. Most nights it's 10 to 12 hours. twenty something daughter just had her tonsils out because she snored and was tired all the time. She is now getting good sleep and has her energy back. I envy her!

I sleep like that (12+ hours) when I'm flaring, but not in between flares.
Though other things can cause it too: as you stated, sleep apnea, but also thyroid, other things.
I'd talk to my doctor about it, test and rule out what he / she can.
But if you are flaring / flaring all the time, it could be that.
Not fun though, I know.

Sometimes I sleep forever. Monday, after I had the run in with a technician who left me in agony, I was exhausted and have spent the last 2 days recovering. It's been rather disappointing because my folks, who moved into my house 9 months ago, are away this week. I was going to do a bunch of little repairs and work around the house that I couldn't do with them here and I'm only now starting to get them done. The biggest problem I have when I have to sleep for a long time is that it increases the pain because I'm not moving around as much and then it can get into a vicious cycle of pain and exhaustion.
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. Plato

Check with doctor. Any med changes during this time? Any signs of infection?
That's all I can think of. Hope you can figure it out.

Hi Sue, Doing better, not feeling as tired today. We had some storms roll in and I felt better after the storm passed and the temperature and humidity dropped. I am getting a few things done today which is better than usual. Enbrel shot tonight, hope that will help things too. (toasting with my auto injector) Hope that Humira continues to work for you.

Hi Pezami It seems hard to plan anything when you don't know how you are going to feel. Sometimes I have to stop doing a certain chore and do another till I can go back and finish the original one. Maybe I was just exhausted from doing more than I should. It seems to take a long time to recover from that. I think you are right about the vicious cycle. Hope you get your chores done. Get done what you need to. Do the rest if you can. Thanks Pezami

Hi Rumble, No med changes, in fact I have decreased my oxycodone use by 10 this month. No infections. Going away this weekend, good thing I have a GPS...I'd be lost without it. Hope I don't feel tired all the time. Thanks for your suggestions hope you are doing well too!!!

Hello Jeff,
When AS flared could not sleep more than couple of hours without having to get up and move around... those days 5-6 hours at night was blessing. Typically took nap after work.
Now, even when have AS fairly well under control, anything more than 8 hours and back gets stiff.

Hi Tim
Have been there too.
Cool Fall nights here 65 degrees. Was 94 a couple of days ago. Probably our last hurrah. This is Wisconsin, so you never know. The humidity has backed off too. Some trees are just starting to turn colors. Mostly up north. Definitely the season of long shadows. Hope you are doing well Tim. Take Care!!!

Jeff, I understand that can be a symptom of Pie Overdose. FYI...
Seriously I have slept like that but when I have been flaring. I still occasionally do. I figure when I do I must need it. I talked to my rheumatologist about it and he said it was disease related fatigue.
65 degrees sounds wonderful. We are to cool off some like maybe 88 tomorrow. It has been very hot and dry here in OK.
