If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi all, Some of you may have read the article by Juliette Wills in today's Mail on Sunday's on her struggle with AS. It was partly the inspiration for my new blog post. Comment and let us all know what negatives you have turned into positives. Hope you enjoy. http://endlesstrax.com/2012/03/04/silver-lining/

Excellent post!
I do try to be positive. I don't let people know the half of what I hurt. I actually come from a mind over matter family. That said, there are a couple of things which has been frustrating me lately.
My illness is in my head, this from some of my mind over matter family. Not everyone mind you, but a few who don't doubt that I have pain, just that I have accepted it from the universe. Also these people think I imagine the NSD relief from my imaginary As pain.
I do think a positive attitude is important, but thought I would share that sad, quirky part of my story.
Iritis first diagnosed in 1991, presently recurrent and steroid resistant. Tested HLA B27 positive in 1996. AS diagnosed October of 2011.
Putting most of my eggs in the NSD and exercise basket, using only TENS, massage, heat and ice, and NSAIDS (sparingly) for pain. Drops for iritis as flare necessitates. Looking back I feel I would have been diagnosed with AS years ago, if I had found a rheumy earlier than 2011.

It frustrates me when I read about people suffering who never mention diet (they were never told?). As somebody has quoted before 'if food can kill you why then can't it heal you'. There was an article in one of my sisters magazines about an ex pop singer who was suffering with AS, again no mention of diet. Well I've jumped in with both boots and emailed the author about the NSD diet. As a journalist she may all ready have looked into it and tried but had no success but you never know. Even if you dont want to trust to diet alone my theory is every bit helps. If you have something thats 'incurable' you want to do absolutely everything you can to keep it at bay.
NSD almost all the way No dairy hard cheeses occasionally and homemade ghee Still trying to work out what makes me tick and what makes me drop

and don't forget sense of humour my favorite line of her article: "on the beach, despite my scars, I wear a bikini. If anyone stares, I tell them that I was mauled by a bear."

Definitely the sense of humor. If I couldn't find something to laugh at, to distract me (reading-music-movie-dinner out, ect), it would be a tough time.
