Hi Aly, welcome back. I love your positive plan. Depression and denial is all a part of AS and when we realize it and plan to move forward that is the healthy way to approach it. Family support , knowledge and understanding is huge and many don't have that. You are blessed. That said, it isn't easy sometimes even with that support and as long as you understand that, it will help you to move through those low times. I have found that medication does help, once I gave in and realized I wasn't "weak" for needing to take it. Sometimes a councelor will help you move past the tough days of denial too.
Hang in there, you heading in the right direction.
Cindy

Strange, I feel very terrible almost every morning I have pain. So hard to get out of bed and force myself to go to work. And then when I am arrived at work I open this page and I feel relieved, that I can walk, that I can do a lot of daily things and at the same time so uncomfortable, because I felt sorry for myself while others have a lot more pain and problems...

I just don't understand how it's possible to be positive if my wrist hurts so much even when I am using those painkillers. I am at work but I can't focus, because it hurts so much, but I love my job. I have visited so many doctors in this time, but nothing changes! How not to be depressed? Only alcohol helps to calm down and also reduce pain. I don't know what will happen when my liver will begin to protest...

Sorry, for this sad post. I am not ready to tell it to my collegue or relatives, I want to look strong, but it's so hard to keep it in...

Hello Aly,

Glad you made your way back if you need support.

AS is funny.. comes and goes. Can you point to anything that changed in your lifestyle that came back out of remission?

Hope you can find some answers. Take one day at a time. Depression is not fun, been there myself... so if you feel yourself slipping reach out.

Take care,
Tim

Nothing wrong with needing antidepressants. Do all you must to save your life.

Shalom,

John

Hi Aly,

Come join us at the "FITNESS" TEAM! Forum. The idea is the creation of EricaK. Any kind of activity counts as long as it keeps you moving. Just enter your distance and time. Our score keeper Tinkerbell adds them up for our drive to a 1,000,000 miles (or something like that).
