Not a great deal today: Trudged through foot high snow, wrestled with metal snow-embedded gate to chicken run. Let out chucks, fed an watered em, cleared out nesting boxes - no eggs at that time, prob laid by now! Then will give evening feed and clear out litter tray. Trudge back through snow and gingerly step 5 snow/ice encrusted steps down and back into house.

Roads out lethal, so no outside today! ALL of above only took about 10 mins! Hardly worth recording. Sigh.

So... trudging and gate wrestling? These are great new sporting activities Molly! cheerleader

However, you forgot to log the time. yes

Stay warm. And, btw, you're completely ruining my inner vision of France in winter.

Go TEAM! clap

Well, a hot bath, muscle relaxer, and 1/2 a pain pill later and I'm thinking that I need to quit trying the long walks. They, my "old" hiking buddies are going on a snowshoe hike, up near the glaciers tomorrow, with the most radical hiking club in the area. devil2 I am green with envy, but I'm really going to have to get over myself and my attitude. Seriously, I'm still thinking about designing an electric off road Go-Ped. Or maybe I just have to suck it up and decide that my days in the wild are over... sad

back when i was having trouble walking (SI joint mostly), i grabbed my camera to force me to slow down. the slower pace really helped. and with camera in hand, i discovered a new hobby, making up for some of what i lost from not being able to walk like i was used to.

i join in your mourning, i do understand, but eventually i think we each come to terms with it and find ways to compensate.

not to say there aren't times, days that i fall into as my husband calls "self pity", but i do try not to dwell there.

still its hard to give up pieces of us, its a real mourning process i know.

but each new thing i discover, helps a bit with the old things i've had to give up.

think when you have a personality where you've never said never before in your life, its a hard new concept to grasp.

heart

Awww...sanks hrtballon

And yes, that do-or-die attitude keeps us going right up until we splat face down in the mud, and still...one boot missing and with broken glasses...we limp toward the finish line shouting "I'll be fine! Nothing to worry about!" floor
