i love this time of year!

just a wee bit cooler (in the 60s) and humidity-free, nice crisp beginning of autumn air. the maples just starting to turn. was rainy all day but cleared late afternoon, so just enough clouds for another spectacular sunset. late enough that most of the birds roosting for the night, but the cardinals like to stay up til almost dark so could hear them on the way out. on the way back, almost dark at that point, could hear the eastern screech owl off in the distance.

if i hadn't stopped to take so many photos, could have walked further, but i just love taking the photos of the ever changing seasons.

walked 1 mile, 30 minutes

Monday: walk 4 miles (80 minutes)

I like it cooling down part, but I am starting to miss the sunlight with the days getting shorter. I am jealous of your trees in the east. I was on a business trip to Ohio a few years ago in November and all I could do was talk about the trees...probably everyday...for a week.

I love this time of year, because the nights are dark enough now that the cruise ships going by are all lit up! We have a peekaboo view, and can only see about 1/3 of the ships at a time, but it's still fun to see smile

the trees out here in the east:

my husband and i went to hawaii for our honeymoon, and flying home, as we were landing in upstate NY (it was summer at the time), my first thoughts were how beautiful and green it was (in comparison to where we had just spent the previous 2 weeks)!

i've interviewed in southern california, out in the midwest, and the first thing i noticed was the lack of trees, it was so an odd thing to me. i probably would have gotten used to it if i had moved, probably would have fallen in love with other things, but visiting other places does make me appreciate the trees.
