If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi all! Another good day in PARADISE! Nothing like a two year nasty flare to make a person TRULY appreciate a period of physical functionality my stats: tai chi - 45 minutes swimming - 1,000 yds / 45 minutes and I still might walk down to the beach w my family. Sigh Go TEAM!

awesome mella! so it's tai chi you do? we do a mother load of pushups and situps--same amount as you! but they've taught me better ways to do them without harming my back. i can do the men's pushups. took me a looong time. i had to do women's for months. but i've learned to work through my breathing. soooo much heat though right now that it's physically draining me. went to class today and hands felt like jello! oh, i dont know what ldn stands for and not a stupid question. i believe it's an alternative med that some of the ka folks here use to treat the AS monster. perhaps someone here will jump in soon to explain better than buggie can! anywho welcome! glad to see another martial arts kickas member! belt 5 thats awesome!!! i am just on km level 1 --hope to be out of weenie hut jr. soon and on to level II as soon as I am able...

Tuesday: walk: 4 miles, 80 minutes
Walks are a fortunate benefit at my work. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. Recently I heard that someone was complaining that some people walk too much. Ha ha...maybe I can get a note from my doctor.

LDN: low dose naltrexone. for those who can't take other meds, don't want to take other meds, or for those of us for which the doctors won't prescribe other meds. very safe, low risk drug, and hey, it has its place. check out the pharmacy and alternative sections. not really sure why people consider it alternative medicine, lots of drugs are used off label. why LDN seems to have this stigma that other drugs don't is kind of a mystery to me (not here, but out there in the medical world); my GP started giving me this huge lecture about the dangers of blah, blah, blah.......honestly, i started tuning him out when i knew how off base he was on this one. its one of the few drugs that does what its supposed to do without side effects......though the what its supposed to do seems a bit unknown at the present time, but for me it allows my body to heal up inflammation way faster than it can on its own! i was in a horrible flare for about two weeks, and just a few days past and its all but a memory, that NEVER happened before the LDN, always lots to recover from before the LDN.
"too much walking": NEVER! get that doctors note if you must! tell them its good for clearing the mind making you more productive when you sit down to do your work. and at least for me, and probably for most others, clearing the mind really does make one more productive. oh lots of reasons that the walking is not only good for you, but for the company as well. they've done studies on such things.
buggie: sorry about the hand(s). something to put on the gift list for santa to bring you: a paraffin wax bath. can't tell you how much i love mine, got a good quality, high end one that's big enough to stick both my hands and feet in (well, not all at the same time, LOL!) mine's from therabath. and one of the fun things is choosing the scent of the wax (unscented an option as well, though the mint and fruit ones are great to me). just a little affordable luxury, a bath or shower, or soaking the hands or feet would work as well, but well, i still like my wax bath. i leave it plugged in as they instruct, on the floor, but beware if you have a dog to put it in a safe place.
oh yeh, almost forgot!
today: walked, 2 miles, 40 minutes.

Just as a side note (incase anyone wanted to know about any calculations) here are some of my workings out! LISASwimming 1 round of 24foot pool = 8 yards (3ft = 1yard) You swam: 8 x 200 8 x 250 8 x 250 8 x 200 TOTAL 7,200 yards I need you to time yourself on one swim so that I can go back and calculate your time, please hon! Thanks so much.TRISH/LISA/ERICAWalking You walked 2.5 miles / 1 mile and 1.5 miles respectively I used the 20 minute = 1 mile to calculate your times as follows: 50 minutes / 20 minutes and 30 minutes (Trish your 4km = 2.5 miles) TINKBike I calculated my 5km = 3 miles Thanks everyone! I hope my calculations are correct - I am checking and double-checking!!!
