Right on! Aren't waterproof Mp3 players the absolute bomb? We use Speedo Aquabeats because my husband and I Are too chicken to put the iPods in the water.

Go TEAM! clap

Belaboring a Point: My exercise physiologist says that the time spent moving is what's important, not the intensity.

The spondylitis association morning and evening exercises take 30 minutes each time. I wonder who all is doing these?

Go TEAM! clap

p.s. I hope you had a great time at the exhibit

I so want to visit this exhibit , but alas I will not be in NYC for quite some time. I'm hoping it makes it over to Seattle, WA or Victoria, BC one of these years.

thanks, small local artists' art exhibit (my husband is part of the art group), so only took about half hour to look at the art, take some photos, but then spent another 3 hours combing the bookstore. rarely do i have the luxury to spend all the time i want in a bookstore, so not a lot of movement, but better to be on my feet and up and down vs just my usual sitting at work.

got another sudoku book, mensa this time, hope its challenging enough, most people do sudoku for the mental stimulation, i do it because it find it relaxing, yes, i am not typical in a lot of ways!

got a cookbook of sicilian cooking, loving the photos of the region, of the food, and the recipes look good too. my stepfather is sicilian so very fortunate to have learned how to cook good authentic italian food.

saw a cheap copy of "siddhartha" in paperback, so bought that for one of my research students who i had just recommended it to the other day.

and bought a book by a doctor called "every patient tells a story":
http://www.amazon.com/Every-Patient-Tell...8414&sr=1-6
it looks like a very good read, will report back when i'm done.

so, not much "exercise" but good to be up for a change, and to buy books, even better.

as for that art exhibit at moma, looks interesting. here we have the george eastman house and international museum of photography and film:
http://www.eastmanhouse.org/
i've seen a few interesting exhibits there, though should probably go more often.

Ok Stats to date are:

SWIMMING:
8,680 yards/metres
295 minutes

WALKING:
8 miles
170 minutes

BIKING:
19.5 miles
95 minutes

TAI CHI:
60 minutes

TOTAL TIME SPENT ON EXERCISE UP TO FRIDAY
620 minutes this is approximately 10 hours!

Dow I have amended your swimming times to your super speedy 38 minutes per 2,000 yards! It must be a combination of your incredible underwater music festival and your push off from one end turn around and push off from the other end technique that has you ripping up the dance floor... Oh! I mean swimming pool! GO DOW!!!!!!

Erica this is the best post ever!
I have been going on for ages about getting a regular exercise program going - this has been the encouragement I neeeded! Self motivation can be a struggle sometimes, but your effort becoming part of a team effort really does it for me!
Thank you so much for your inspirational post.

Erica and Sue it's great to hang out with you!
Dow it's fab to get to know you better!
Mig so glad you have popped in to join us - love your heron pic too!

Ok, I guess we don't get to count shopping and wandering as exercize. I am truthfully quite a slacker at heart! The ONLY reason I have ever exercised is to combat pain. Well, except when I was a youngster bodysurfing at the beach near my house.
