Yes, the river is lovely right now... except we scare the heron when we swim over to the falls! lol He always comes back though.

It is even hot at night but yes, way way better than daytime. I have been keeping all of my curtains drawn as well. It is brutal!

So far at least no thunderstorms!

was wondering if that was the same river where you posted that excellent picture of the heron. at least he comes back!

thunderstorms, by friday should see some as a cold front comes in, that will be good! but i agree heat and thunderstorms followed by more heat just equals mugginess. at least we haven't had that. but a good cold front will be nice.

my husband on the other hand LOVES this weather. to him nothing says summer better than heat (and thunderstorms).

Hi Erica.. so nice to meet you too!

Pick a sport... lol, err, ummm, wellll, I am one of those few who is not a big fan of anything that looks suspiciously like exercise. (still equate moving with pain) but disguise it enough and I'm happy - love to walk in the woods and swim in the river.

I keep thinking that I should buy a bike. I used to adore biking! Hey, maybe this thread will help to inspire me.

Or I may stick to the cheering section! smile

Yep Sue, it's the same river! There are two herons this year, a big one and a little guy.

This shot is taken from the rock where I get in, then swim out to the white water and float back along the far side... it's my oasis. smile

with woods to walk in and a river to swim in, who needs any other form of exercise; it is absolutely beautiful there! no wonder you love it so much. throw in the herons, and it sounds like paradise!
