Hello all.

For some reason I'm not able to post a reply to the thread of the same name posted by Administration.

I have some questions that I hope someone will qualify for me.

1. You mention Ebringer and others have approached KA regarding this project. Who are the others?

2. You say that Ebringer will provide chapters on disease mechanism and therapies / treatment. Will these be all inclusive / encompassing, or will they be Ebringer's views on disease mechanism and his preferred treatment options only?

3. When the time comes that I am purchasing this book in the bookstore, which names will be on the editorial list inside the book cover (presumably this won't be listed as "KA Administration")?

Oh dear, a very inappropiate time to post this query I think.

You may have just poured oil on very troubled waters.

I have been wondering about that. I don't like the "snake oil" feeling I get when I keep reading posts that we should all fast and do the dumb diet. I'm sorry, but I think it is very unhealthy. I do try to keep my carbs down, but I would never recommend fasting or make anyone feel bad because they choose not to do what you do.

After reading the Administrations KA book project posting that is locked to all other posts, where do I say that they cannot quote me or use any of my postings in their material. This is wrong. The administration of a messageboard should in no way be promoting anyone's book or to ask the posters of the messageboard to contribute to a book or study. It is a conflict of interest, In my opinion.

I'm sorry if you think I'm flaming an issue, it certainly wasn't my intention, although I think the questions need answering.

What is terribly unfortunate, is that I infrequently pop in these days, but whenever I do, something like this is occuring. It causes me to flare (I think you mentioned similar?), so I leave. I'm always optimistic that if I pop in again at another time, things will be better, but unfortunately, that's not happened for quite some time.

Sad, really really sad.

You can also post your objections publicly, send copies to your friends and keep a version on your own computer for future reference.

I was just about to reply to another post of yours in this thread, but it's been deleted.

I really really understand your frustration. I've been a member of KA since 2000(ish), was once upon a time moderator and then admin. My now husband Loz was also an admin, so you can say we've had a lot of vested interest in this site for many reasons

I don't know why that website is claiming that Ebringer is the owner of KA. It certainly wasn't that way in the past, and while people like Mig and Timo are a part of the admin team, I can't see that it would have become that way now.

I can also promise you that Ebringer and John are not one in the same.

I really don't want to inflame the situation any further, but as you can tell by my questions, I feel fairly suspicious about the upcoming KA book.

John and I have debated diet, etc, many times in the past, and I'm honestly just too tired to go through it again. As long as I've been at KA, there have always been a polite group of people who respectfully provide counterarguement to some of the very strong-minded (and spoken!) supporters of diet. There used to be a time when a new member would join and post an introduction, and before you could blink, someone would reply telling them that all would be cured if they tried Diet X. I would then counter-reply and say that diet may be beneficial, but so may many other therapies *insert list here*. It was just too much. Over the years, the people who provide some diet counter-arguements seem to change from time to time. It seems to be your time now.

Hang in there. Like I said, I understand your frustrations, and how some greater conspiracies might seem possible in the light of all that, but I for one don't believe them.

I don't understand why when you go to the link provided you eventually end up back here. I at least thought there was going to be some of his research there. It's too bad that they locked their posting so that no one can comment. It makes it look like they are afraid of comments. At least they haven't deleted us yet.
