I've thought about eliminating nightshades, Kat, but haven't got round to trying that yet. Silly really because my mother had some success with her arthritis, eliminating the nightshade family. The only things is, she had mostly osteo arthritis at the time so I didn't feel encouraged to remove yet more things from an already restricted celiac diet.

However, really I should give it a try - if it worked I'd be so delighted it would be very worth while giving up those foods.

Interesting stuff, Sue. Perhaps they have found ways to develop controlled studies of dietary intake. If so, I agree it would be very helpful if they did a decent study of the link between AS and starch intake.
