Bragg Liquid Aminos is a great soy sauce substitute. I haven't had any problems with it (tests fine with iodine) and use it a lot for seasoning everything from roasted pork to chicken soup.

Some of the things I really miss on the NSD are salty, crunchy snacks like chips. This recipe goes a long way in satisfying that craving. These roasted almonds are great for "active" snacks when doing things like hiking and biking. They're also a favorite travel food to take camping and on flights.

6 c. raw almonds
1/2 c. Bragg liquid aminos

Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine almonds and Bragg in a big tupperware-type of plastic container. Seal with its cover and shake to coat the almonds with the Bragg. Spread a piece of aluminum foil over the bottom of a large cookie sheet (for easy clean-up after baking), then pour the almond/Bragg mixture in. Spread the almonds out to form a single layer. Roast in the oven for about 15-17 minutes, or till desired crunchiness.

Thanks for the recipe Jeanette.

I've been using Bragg Liquid Aminos for a while now and I really like it, using it with many different foods.

Can you explain what 'Bragg Liquid Aminos' is ... e.g. what it contains, so I can look for a UK version. Sounds too nice to miss.

Many thanks,

B.
