I thought i had read somewhere an association of, Rocky Mountain Fever (aka-spotted tick fever, Lyme disease) and people with A.S., being more dangerous? Is there any reason for MORE concern for people with A.S. that are bitten and contract the fever? Could you point me to any info on this? Thanks all!

I don't know much about it, but I did meet someone a few months ago in Portland at an SAA meeting who had gone hiking and contracted Rocky Mountain Fever. After that is when he started having symptoms of AS and he thinks that it was a contributing factor to him having AS now.

i have a dear friend with long-term, bad lyme disease...know of many folks with lyme...
one of the progressive steps of untreated/unresolved lyme and other tick borne diseases
is 'systemic arthritis' along with neurologic and nerve pain problems.

AS is a 'systemic arthritis'...also...origin subject to much debate/question/wonder/ and, perhapss some complex
inter-relation of things not known.

i live in connecicut, whence the town of lyme is located...so this is an issue of much debate and many opinions hereabouts...there are many folks seriously damaged and hurt by lyme all over ( amy tan has written of her story, for one)
